Thanks all. Yes it'll fit - although we'd rather he wasn't in there at all! 😂 We left him with the run of downstairs when we went to the cafe earlier - we were out a couple of hours, and when we got back we looked through the window, and he was fast asleep, in the crate 😂 Going to try doing the same tonight I think, and hopefully he'll settle. I've just taken him for another half hour walk so hoping I will have tired him out a bit more today 😂11

So. I have been zombie tired again today (not as bad as yesterday though) so haven't done much from my list...
We did bath the dog though, and I took him for two longer walks, totalling 1.5 hours, and me and Mr Cheery went for a separate walk in town too.
Mr Cheery made soup, but other than that we've just lazed around all day. I did chat to a couple of friends on the phone while out walking which was nice.
So, let's try again for a list for tomorrow...
* long dog walk
* ring gym to book PT appointment
* paint rest of bedroom ceiling
* put some washing on
* ring LPG people
* possibly batch cook something else
* clean out chicken house and replace bedding
* write up list of goals for here!9 -
Good luck with the dog.
I liked your frugalwoods post. I signed up a few years ago but found it too full on - so know what you and other posters mean. It did mean though that when it came to dyeing my own hair with help from DD and cutting it myself - during lockdowns it wasn't such an alien idea... I vote for keeping your gym membership but using it more. You need to be fit and healthy in retirement - not just wealthy. Batch cooking makes a huge difference to food spend - and really helps on those 'can't be bothered' days.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Resting and recuperating are important things to add to the list too 🙂

Thank you both. Savingholmes, you're right at needing to be fit and healthy in retirement. I feel old already and I'm only 41! 😮😮 Rest and recuperation have definitely been much needed this holiday season.
Anyway, I forgot to say, a cheque arrived today from the power company, for £215. Technically they're right - it's £70 for the first 48 hours (although our neighbours were only out for 48 hours and offered £100), then £70 for each 12 hour period.
We lost power at 2am on the Saturday, then regained about 1.45pm on the Tuesday - about 15 mins short of the third 12 hour period, which they haven't given us anything for.
Everywhere says £70 for each 12 hour period, but giving us nothing for the final period of 11 hrs and 45 mins seems a bit cheeky. (Although there does seem to be an extra £5 so maybe that's the part period?)
Not sure I can be bothered doing anything about it, looks like technically they're right, but it does seem a bit mean!11 -

I've checked back over my messages from them, and their records seem to suggest we were reconnected at 9.30am - I can't verify because I was at work and it didn't disappear from their website til early afternoon, but I think at this point I probably won't quibble.
Misty and soggy here today. Me and the dog have been for a walk, saw a couple of local folk, one out with a dog, another with a muck spreader 😂
Just working my way up to going present shopping. I've got a list so hopefully not too arduous!
Need t get a few bits for family meal, although we won't be doing anything fancy. I got a pizza stone for Christmas, so I'm just going to put a load of toppings on the table and we can keep topping them up and shoving in the oven. Will do a couple of sweet ones as well. Definitely no three course dinners here!10 -
Pizzas sound wonderful.
