Normally I am with you all in the 'no is a complete sentence' camp, and I also like (although pretty much never abide by) the Mary Poppins stance of 'I never explain anything' 😂😂 These particular circumstances are very specific and delicate though - but I've said no now, so we'll have to see what happens - hopefully nothing!
Had a nice win on the Happy wheel last night. It's been a little neglected in October for obvious reasons, but yesterday's win took me to £151 for the month, very pleased with that! Mr Cheery is also pleased - the £70 win last night came from a bonus round, and I'd given him the selection numbers to choose from, so he feels partly responsible 😂
So £151 from the Happy Wheel, £13 from Prolific for me (again neglected for obvious reasons). £125 from a bank referral, Mr Cheery's prolific is about £25, will get him to check and withdraw today. Plus bank rewards of about £2.
Also got £4.50 to withdraw from TCB - just checked reward cards and I'll be able to get an extra 8-16p by take it as a reward card rather than bank transfer... But I'm not sure that's worth the bother at this point, might just do the cash this time.
Altogether that's about £320 of extra income this month - a lovely total! I'll check exact totals later and report back, and will do some end of month banking - I think the £350 provisional savings are still intact so a good amount to transfer to pots.
Friend has confirmed they are still free at the end of November for our little weekend away in Germany, so need to get on and book that, very exciting! Holiday pot will be severely depleted, but this is what we were saving for 😊 Then a trip to visit friends in Ireland in the spring 😊
Right, best get up. Job form is complete priority for today! I have one short task to do first, then going to focus only on that until meetings at 2pm, and work Friday to make up for it 🙄 That should let me have most of the evening off, need to cook something proper, do some budgeting, and get some rest!8 -
£13.48 withdrawn from Prolific for me.
Continuing to put off job form 🙄 Not the actions of a go-getting professional! 😱6 -
Those are great amounts, Cheery, well done you. And lovely to have some time away to look forward to.
As for the job form ... it sounds a nightmare to compile it and think about it and express it all clearly. Completely human reaction to delay it - so you need a reward for paying attention to it. What can you give yourself that's good? Where's the best panoramic viewpoint from your property, and do you get there often enough?2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
LOL - come on Cheery 'Eat that Frog' - the first bite is always the worst - the aftertaste is never as bad as you think!
[it would help if I'd have hit post comment and not save draft all those hours ago - LOL]
ETA - Prolific has been good for us too this month - OH was 83.81 & mine was 11.34 - 95 pounds is naught to sneeze at! - we'll put it towards groceries for the month - trying to keep spends low and eat from the stores/freezer & veg box only - we've had so many tempting 0li0 gleanings last month that the freezer is now packed!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Thanks KC 😊 Love the suggestion of a viewpoint as a reward, and while it's now gone dark, I'll save that for the weekend! I set myself a deadline to stop working on it and send it to a friend for feedback, and now we're going out for tea 😊
It's in a reasonable shape now, but will need considerable work tomorrow too. Hoping that will be easier after a rest and feedback from friend (who is in a similar role to the one I'm going for) and Mr Cheery (who spent 20 years as an editor).
Lol RT 😂 I always wish for a better phrase as I just can't imagine eating a poor little frog, it makes me want to do the thing even less 😂😂
£95 on prolific is excellent, well done!! I'm hoping to get more done next month but we'll see, won't be holding my breath 😂9 -
No premium bonds win for us this month sadly! But the £25 from Onepoll arrived today 😊 so that's a nice start to November earnings!
Job form is going on. Had feedback from both Mr Cheery and friend in similar job - very useful suggestions and not too many of them either 😂 Got a meeting at 2pm, so I'm going to try and make all their suggestions before then and print again, see where we're at. Deadline is 11.59 tonight 🙄😂 and I am NOT aiming to come right up against it 😂
Ooh, forgot to mention the LPG people turned up yesterday to fit an automatic telemetry thing to the tank. I knew it was going to be done at some point in the next 2 years 😂 It's the equivalent of a smart meter for those of us not on mains gas, although not as detailed i don't think. Means I won't have to hop out into the field all winter to provide updates - they'll track consumption and automatically send an order when needed, and I should see what we've got left (and how that relates to actual consumption, not just guesswork) from the comfort of the house.
Right, best crack on.10
