Are they adding the standing charge on a day at a time like mine previous one used to do. It is about 70p a day now going up by about 8p per day in July. It soon adds up.

Maybe, but I don't think it would add up to over £100 since the last bill to make that much of a difference to what I thought the balance was. Next DD due 3rd July I think and I gave a meter reading today so hopefully will get a bill soon.2
-
Aha, mystery solved - a bill just arrived. £137 in credit at the end of April, £84 DD at the start of May, and another £84 at the start of June, makes £305 in credit.
I didn't submit a meter reading in May, so they didn't issue a bill - they don't start using estimated readings until you've missed 3 months of readings I think.
I submitted meter reading, and the £117 worth of electric we've used since the last bill (27th April) was taken off immediately, leaving us now with £188 credit. I didn't realise it would be applied immediately!
Another £84 (or rather £73 DD will be added early July, so we'll be back up to about £260 ish.

Morning MSE chums 😊
Up early this morning to take the dog out for a quick wee, but we are back in bed now, me with a cuppa, and him curled in a ball by my knees 🙄😂
These aren't the most restful nights I'm having, sleeping on the sofa bed with the dog messing about half the night, but once he does actually settle down he does at least stay in bed, even if he does fidget a fair bit. Fortunately I am a very good sleeper 😂 which is the main reason it's me on the sofa bed with him, not Mr Cheery...
Also fortunately, he's going home on Tuesday 😂 Ideally he'd sleep on the floor (in someone else's house 😂) but quite clearly we aren't going to retrain an elderly dog for the sake of 5 or 6 nights a year, so the sofa bed it is 🙄😂
Cheerful day today, not planning much of a spendy one. We're going to take the dog for a little trip to the town park this morning - we took him for a quick walk round a park on the way home the other day and he was SO excited at all the smells 😂 It's fine at our house, but he can't smell a lot of other dogs, so since he's on holiday,we thought we'd give him a little treat 😂 Might nip into the cafe, but might not, we'll see.
Then I've got a load of tidying to do as we've got a cheerful visitor arriving this afternoon 😊😊😊 To be honest, it's tidy enough that I won't be too embarrassed (once we've washed up and cleared the beer bottles from last night) but it could be tidier!
Oh, and I need to get my little ready for tomorrow's race! Clothes are ok, but where are my trail shoes?? Where is my running rucksack? In the garage I think- is it actually mouldy?? Does it need to go through the washing machine? Do I need to make flapjacks? Do I have enough fruit pastilles?? All the important questions!10 -

I am now immensely excited to hear all about your race, having seen the photos!
Also that was quite the catchup as I'm still trying to get up to date with diaries after our holiday. And on that subject - we take the view that we budget for holidays for a reason - so the money is there to be spent, and it costs what it costs. While we'll quite happily keep our eyes out for YS'd bargains in the shops and things like that, we refuse point blank to feel that we should be in any way frugal on our holidays!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Morning chums 😊😊
Well, it was extremely hot 🥵🥵😂 I've never been so sweaty, it was grim 😂😂 drank SO much water. Had a lovely time although Monday was not my most productive day at work 😂😂
Off on a long train journey today, for work. Staying overnight at the seaside, very exciting!
Got a couple of overdue financial things I must do very soon
* return clothes parcel
* cancel AA membership
* claim expenses
I can do AA membership this morning before I go, and can email about the parcel, although I won't be able to post it til I get back. I was thinking expenses might have to wait til I got back but in fact I think I can take a photo of my train tickets rather than waiting for the scanner...
Mr Cheery is taking the dog home today. He's pretty well behaved and undemonstrative, but I am very ready to be back in my own bed 🙄😂 In fact after 6 nights in the sofa bed with the dog, I am VERY much looking forward to tonight in a hotel by myself 😂😂
We've only had one wee in the kitchen which I think is pretty good for a 17 year old dog who usually has a dog flap and who has to wait for us to take him out here.
Ready for him to go home now though!8 -
