Right. Did a whole load of messing about today, and eventually spoke to my sister at 3.30 - she was also messing about, while she was meant to be studying for an exam on Monday. So we agreed to focus for 1.5 hours then get back in touch - and I did more in that 1.5 hours than the rest of the day put together.
Stopped to make a risotto, and do the Happy Wheel (lost £3 but still up £129 which isn't bad on day 3 of the month!). Also remembered to order some chicken food.
Just going to nip out and tuck them into bed, and then start again for another 1.5 hours. At that point, I'm going to send whatever I have to my pcolleague, and call it a night. I'll still be working most of tomorrow, but I'd like to get up early and get it over and done with.
Yawn - can't be bothered with this right now, but that's hardly a useful attitude at this stage - I should have finished it earlier! Maybe it'll teach me for next time (or maybe it won't...)6 -
I think you're all absolute stars! Cheery, your property is huge, Greenbee, it sounds like you've completely renovated your property over the last few years, and scarter, I'm definitely going to hunt out your diary (oh! I'm assuming you have a diary, I'll check).2023: the year I get to buy a car6

Thanks KC 😊 I'm very much enjoying seeing you chipping away methodically at all your jobs to get your house in order! Reminds me that everything doesn't always have to be done at once 😊
Well, this evening took a somewhat unexpected turn - Mr Cheery rang to suggest meeting at a friend's house on his way home - friend was in, and by that point I was well ready to talk to someone else, so I drove over to Sheffield too. Completely ridiculous, but we spent a couple of hours drinking tea and putting the world to rights, and then drove home in convoy 🙄😂 Hardly money saving (but I did take the biscuits my other friend brought here on Friday!)
So much for an early night 🙄7 -
Sounds like Mr Cheery made a good call there.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

He did, although I don't exactly feel very sprightly this morning! 🙄5

Yep, I'm with Bailey's Babe
getting out and having a bit of a laugh with people you like, can't beat it.

Evening MSE chums 😊 Another long day in front of the work deadline 🙄 I was never this bad at leaving things til the last minute as a student 😂😂
Anyway, got a respectable amount done and sent to colleague, but tomorrow is going to be rather hectic too 🙄
Hard cut off as well, as I have to leave to catch a train at 2.30 🙄
Feel rather like things are just whirring on around me at this stage though. Running on adrenaline, only focusing on the next necessary thing and nothing else. Roll on 16th - my first day of 3.5 weeks off work 😁😁6 -
Hope you get chance for a rest soon Cheery, it all seems rather hectic at the moment. 16th not too far off I suppose!2

Don't worry, I'm getting little bits of cheerfulness along the way! Had friends round on Friday, saw other friends on Saturday, band practice last night, out for tea with another pal tonight, going to someone else's house for tea on Wednesday, someone coming to ours for tea and staying overnight on Saturday 😂
All of which is cheerful, but I suppose it doesn't leave much space in the diary for actual resting 😂😂8 -
Evening chums 😊
Long but cheerful away day for work today (well, the away day itself was less than 6 hours, but I was working straight after breakfast, and stupidly booked an off peak train ticket so I can't leave til after 7 even though we finished at 4!)
Anyway, nice evening out with a chum last night, then a slightly restless night in a Travelodge. Took me about half an hour to get into the room - had to go back to reception 3 times because the card didn't work, then the 4th time someone came with me and confirmed that nope, it didn't work, and neither did her master card, and then the 5th time someone came and reprogrammed it. What a fiasco!
Still, bed was clean and comfy enough. Not a patch on a Premier Inn bed (or Premier inn soundproofing!!) But then it was half the price 😂
Now killing time before my train, and on a whim I have joined the British Library reading rooms 😁 Just having a snack in the cafe, then will stash my bag etc and head in on a little adventure. What fun!
Should get home about 10 I think, and have sensibly arranged to work from home tomorrow...6
