Happy birthday 🥳Sealed pot challenge 822
Jan - £176.66 :j4 -
Thank you all, you lovely people 😊😊 No, I wasn't sure about the present from Bulb either 😂 I even logged into my Happy Wheel emails to see if anyone had given me a few surprise birthday spins, but no, although there were a few 'happy birthday! Why not try our new slot to celebrate?' messages 🙄
Anyway, back on it tomorrow, although that does make me think of the quote from Grandpa Simpson - "I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was" 😂😂 always makes me laugh 😂😂
Anyway. We're nearly a third of the way through the year, so there will be a goals review meeting with my sister, and a detailed plan for the next third, which will take us to the end of August, eek!
A few things spilling round it my head at the minute:
*decluttering - I am SO desperate to claw the house back to some semblance of order. Well, not even "back", because I'm not sure this house has ever been in order!!
* finishing decorating - bedroom, kitchen, craft room, yawn
* garden! So many garden projects!
* exercise and healthy eating - I NEED to do something about my weight and complete lack of fitness 🙄
So many other things to do and think about. Fix walls, make wills, sow some seeds, visit some people, are we ever going to go on holiday? Need to sort out the budget to alow for loss of pay from strikes, blah blah blah.
Clearly all those things will either get done or they won't 🙄😂😂 But I think I need a session of sitting down and setting priorities!
Also need to book in some holidays from work, otherwise things will start dripping and dropping into every single week of the summer and I'll struggle to take a chunk in a row...
Should probably stop thinking about all that though and go to sleep 🙄😂9 -
When doing your wills, have you thought about DIYing your power of attorneys?

That's how I did mine. If you can just keep it simple. If you need a lot of ifs & buts in there then don't DIY. You have to be careful about writing something that may limit it. One person put in their health one for the GP to tell the family what was going on. The hospital they were in read that as not applying to them because they weren't a GP so refused to tell the family. You can read both lots of forms online & see how you feel. I'm not sure how much they are now but they used to be £82 each once they went online. A solicitor can charge over £350 each.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll investigate at some point. Normally I'm in favour of DIY, but something that has implications like that if I'm not aware of all the nuances, I might be inclined to have help. We'll see.8

I think you'd probably be fine to DIY Cheery - just make sure you read up on it first. My mum and uncle did my nan's without any input - both just reasonably intelligent and literate human beings.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Just to say I did mine all on my own & we also helped Mum with hers & we had no problems for the 4 years we (mostly I) needed to use them. The notes, unlike most gov stuff, are very good.

Thank you all, that sounds very doable 😊 we'll likely get help with the wills for various reasons but POA sounds like DIY will be doable.5
