Plunge. If your sink waste pipe is linked to it too then plunge it also.
When cleaning the bathroom give it a plunge to prevent the accumulation of crud and hair That's what's causing the slow drain.1 -
J_B said: Then we tried this https://www.barrettinepro.co.uk/25/337/Toilet-Drain-Unblocker which worked a treat but, be careful how you use it and don't spill any on the surfaces of your showerAt 90-97% Sulphuric Acid, the average shopper will not be able to purchase it without the appropriate licence*. The excuse is that someone might use it to make a bomb or maim/injure someone. A daft piece of legislation, as it still allows for the purchase of Hydrochloric Acid (40%), Sodium/Potassium Hydroxide, and any number of potentially dangerous chemicals...

Thanks !
I'll get plunging before potentially dismantling the shower irreversibly :-)

I use this every time the water slows down when draining in my shower. https://www.amazon.co.uk/HG-Liquid-Drain-Unblocker-1L/dp/B0078P8TBM Not necessary from Amazon. They have different types for different uses, works a treat for approx 6mths.Moneysaver0

NSG666 said:Looks to me like the dip tube (white bit) will just pull out now. Might need to get a good grip possibly with pliers but do be careful not to break it.
Stopped by Screwfix & picked up a plunger on the way home from my night shift today.
I gave the drain a good seeing to but with minimal effect.
NSG666 was spot on! Although it looked as if the metal ring was holding the plastic bit down, some gentle manipulation with pliers got it moving.
Appears I had more of the previous occupants hair in the shower than I have on my head ( not that much then).
All bits cleaned & shower now draining like a good un.
I'm glad I didn't manage to undo the metal ring now!!
I'll pop a picture on just for interest / yuckiness.
Off to have a shower now :-)

EEEWWW
We have similar shower trap in our 'new' home. I also discovered enough hair in ours to stuff a small cushion. Some people simply don't look beyond what is immediately visible. Makes me cringe.
