Morning, hugs if you need one.
Yesterday was our usual quiet day, we had breakfast in bed, melon and croissant, lunch was smoked salmon on rocket salad, supper the roast beef and the full works. I made 12 yorkies, one each, the rest are in the freezer.
Unfortunately we had some bad news when DB phoned his sister. His nephew aged 24 has cancer of the spine and lungs and is having chemo. That really put a dampener on things. I did wonder if all was well as SIL is usually the first one to send a card. They just had niece and her children there the rest of the family were either at home or having a hotel Christmas.
This morning again have had breakfast in bed, very late as we were drinking tea at 2am. I had gone off to sleep, DB woke me fidgiting. Doubt if we will have any lunch, will do a cold buffet for later this afternoon.
On a slightly lighter note, I noticed this yesterday morning....... a rose on the obelisk in the garden.

Snoozer - what a fab surprise for you, sometimes things work out well.TA - another one here who hopes you can get out to the family today.Coxy - had to laugh at your OH. Doesn't matter how old we get that 'one more' glass gets us everytime. I've been told that I left a full glass of wine on the table of the pub last Friday when I decided to go back to my hotel. I've also been told that it wasn't wasted!
Florence - you do such wonderful volunteer work.Nels - the wonderful book wasn't my idea either, though it's brilliant!I've cleared out the top drawer in my bedside set, moved some stuff elsewhere and got a pile of things to throw out. I've decided that I really don't need to keep my little old red provisional driving licence from 1972
and it's now in the bin. Now I need to decide what to do
with the moderate number of pencils I accumulated when working, I really
like pencils!

Forgot to say earlier JackieO messaged me last night and asked me to send her love and Christmas wishes to everyone. I so miss her on the thread15

Csarina, so sorry to hear your news, what a terrible thing in one so young.
I miss Jackie's posts as well Nelski, has she managed to move to the Isle of Wight as she was planning or is that on hold like so many plans.
Talking of plans I am looking at turning one of the bedrooms into a sewing room - it only gets used once every Preston Guild as my mum used to say (Preston Guild being held every 20 years). I want to put a sofa bed and remove the redundant wardrobe leaving room for a decent table and shelving for storage. We'll see, it's not the biggest room so might not be suitable.11 -

Csarina - so sorry to hear the news about your nephew.
Wet day here - had a long lie in after yesterday - I forget how old I am when I dash about on a busy day. Went for a short walk in the hope of reviving us.
Watched the online divisional service this afternoon.
Going to be a confusing week ahead.
