Aha, so its a BMW.
My friend had a very similar issues with his BMW - he had been driving it for years without any problems then suddenly the car developed a strange intermittent flashing warning light on the dash accompanied by an alarming ticking noise.
He discovered the issue was linked to one of the stalks coming out from behind the steering wheel !!
- if he pushed it one way the flashing warning light + the ticking noise started
- if he pushed the stalk the other way another similar flashing warning light came on along with the same ticking noise.
He found that if he left the stick in a particular position between the 2 extremes then the warning lights and ticking stopped.
He never got to the bottom of it but never touched that stalk again and had no further issues.
.Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???2 -
