Hi everyone,
I've been out to M & S and Lidl. It was odd to see M & S so empty of food, usually it's groaning but this year several of the fridges just contain booze. I only wanted a couple of bits so it didn't take long, I was there just after opening so it was virtually empty.
Steve is still in bed but I am just having a cuppa before I make the sausage rolls and an S & K pie for tonight. I've already made the pastry and filling so it's just putting it together. I also want to make the cauli cheese. I also have to nip round to my old office with their cards, I've been carrying them round for days. Oh and wrap the last couple of presents for Steve. One is a golf club so I'm no quite sure how to tackle that. I shall be glad to get to Chris' this afternoon then I can relax.
Have a good day and very many good wishes for tomorrow for all of you.13 -
Morning all. Ohs mum very kindly took me shopping for a bits last night, so I gave her mince pies in return...Made with Bettys pastry obviously. I put some extra nuts in the mincemeat, the pastry was lovely, the middle, maybe too many extras and not enough juicy bits...Be alright with cream so nothing to complain about there...Also did a ham. I looked at Jamies Jerk recipe for it, thought, I can't be bothered with that whizzing up faff, so the rub was mustard powder, thyme, bit of brown sugar and ground coriander, and then the glaze was quince jam from three or four years ago, bit of orange juice and whisky. Tastes good, luckily.Today I'm going to make up some more side dishes. Couldn't find brocolli, but do have celeriac and spinach in the freezer so I'll make them into a side dish with some cream and cheese instead. I'm like that waitrose advert, Christmas is all about the food
I blame my mother...In a good way.Coverage will be spotty this next week or so, so I wish you all a nice time doing whatever you want to do and feeling like however you want to feel. Hope you all get through unscathed and in command of your faculties...xNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi13 -

Morning, Hugs if you need one. Pollyanna loved your tribute to Dumpling, I know her family are heartbroken.
Up and at em' white load in the washer, will go in the dryer. Made 6 more lace snowflakes yesterday a present for a friends grand daughter, was just washing off the stabilizer when I realised I had done one twice, so had to do a quick search for the mmissing one. Thankfully it did not take long to sew out, They are dry, I am just about to iron them and put the gold thread on to hang them up.
Beef is in the fridge, will be in the oven shortlly, I will slice it later once its cold, leave out enough for tomorrow and a cold supper on Sunday, the rest will go in the freezer.
Its a brightish morning, the overnight fog has cleared away and there is a slight breeze.
So folks, I hope you all have a lovely Christmas day, and those of you who are not well, soon feel better.

Morning all, I'm late, back to normal already !
I have stripped the bed ready for remaking and then I'll clean upstairs. The xmas meats will be cooked today, turkey crown and pork loin both need to go in the oven. My 2 gammon joints will be put in the slow cookers until they need the final cooking in their respective marinades, think I'll put my chef in charge of that. The kitchen floor will need cleaning again and I'll run the cleaner over the downstairs too. DD will call round later tonight to collect the 2 presents she left here for DGS.
Tomorrow DD and DGC will be here about 10am to open their presents with us, Yippee, then Dad will come over for his lunch and tea. Tea tonight will be leftover Chinese takeaway. I think Boxing day SiL will come for lunch too as the match at Liverpool has been cancelled, I'll just stick him in the corner........ no chance of that he's 6ft 4 ish with size 14 shoes 🤣
Right tea break over, must get on.
Gers hold on to the good memories, have a special hug.
Pollyanna lovely to see you, I have ditched the suitcase until the end of the holidays. Love from, Amy Pond 😂
NMLC hope you all feel better soon.
I hope everyone has as good a day tomorrow as they can. Thinking of those who are poorly or looking after poorly relatives, those who have passed and their families left on earth, it will be a sad time for them.
Merry Christmas everyone, hope you have a peaceful and happy day. 🎄
Take care all

Morning all
Dry here and doesnt feel too cold, I have put the last bits onto wash and they can go in the TD today, I cant have washing hanging about at Christmas.
Lots to do today, I did a lot of cleaning yesterday but downstairs will need a hoover through and a mop, I did not touch upstairs so that will need doing too, and the bathroom wants a good clean, OH can do up and I will do down, the extra table and chairs need bringing down and the table legs putting on and then the tables can be laid ready, we can then do the veg and spuds for tommorrow, dd is making the cauli and broc cheese at work today, but we need to do the sprouts tiny carrots and some nero cabbage and the spuds.
This afternoon we will go for a walk and get some holly and ivy for dressing the table. Yesterday I made some vegan turkish delight which has set over night so I need to dust it this morning with icing sugar and pack it up, this is for my homemade gift we are all making one and will swap.
Mum is coming up this evening and we are going to order a chinese takeaway, she is very down atm as its the first Christmas without my brother and she is struggling a bit, we all are tbh it will be a strange one without him.
Thinking of Dumplings family this is going to be a hard year for them xx
Gers thinking of you too without dear Ursula xxx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
There are many here who have lost family this year - Ruby, Poppy, Dumpling's family - as well as those who have family members on their minds from years past. Whilst the first year may well be the most difficult I know that the void never closes. Thanks so much. 💕💕14

Morning All
They arrived! So lovely to have them here and can't wait for everyone to be together. Their test results have come back negative so it's all good so far.
Thinking of you all who have lost loved ones this year, hope you only have good memories.
May not be back until after the big guy has been, so will wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas. Take care. XX14
