Neff oven - condensate trough

My partner snapped the condensate trough on our Neff oven, it sits at the bottom of the door.
What does this do and can I use the oven without it?
I have done endless Google searches and I can't find much information on it.
Thanks

As the name suggests, it catches moisture/steam that condensates around the oven door. It's essentially a drip tray. You can still use the oven without it but you may get water dripping onto the floor.1

Thank you. You know more than the people at Neff, but they were very good on the phone and are sending me a free replacement condensate strip.neilmcl said:As the name suggests, it catches moisture/steam that condensates around the oven door. Thanks again, I'm glad to know I can still use it.0
