23 December and a payment still hasn’t been taken from my account, the company has tried twice now. It’s “only” for dog food but it’s needed early next week and changing his food won’t be a good thing to do. Is anyone still having problems with Nationwide?

No. How are they trying to take the money, direct debit or a debit card? I've had both methods processed successfully in the last 3 days, as well as an outward Faster Payment yesterday. Sounds to me like the company may be doing something wrong, have you paid the same way before with them?
