as my current contract is up on xmas day with eon been paying £60 per month, and always in credit, low user know my exact usage
been shopping around and shopping around past few months the big 6 offering for aprox 110 per month 2yr contract, but past week there all talking 130 to my current co 175
i`m like ahh , but scottishpower with exact use put in still showing up as 112 p/m 2 yr contract
ive decided to take it up and yes my new cap would have been set to 75 p/m if i stayed with eon but after april well it could be well above the 112 ive set myself into
hope ive done the right thing, only worry is the reviews for scottish power, i will take pic on transfer day of the meters
opinions anyone ?

I've seen worse rates although still quite eye-watering. Only time will tell how they compare to standard variable or new fixes in April.2

If you allow your current fixed term contract to lapse you will be put on a cheaper rate than the one from Scottish Power (Eon's Standard Variable Rate). But this rate may well go up in April and could end up more than those Scottish Power rates. It's a bit of a gamble what to do.Reed2

worst can happen is pay the £60 leaving fee, as you says its a gamble but at least ive safeguard myself IF the price goes up after aprilReed_Richards said:If you allow your current fixed term contract to lapse you will be put on a cheaper rate than the one from Scottish Power (Eon's Standard Variable Rate). £60 leaving fee on top of the extra money you will have paid from Xmas to April is the worst case scenario.Reed2

Over the next 100 days that's 3500kWh. On that SP tariff I'd end up paying an extra £140 vs. the variable tariff cap.Of course the OP might use a lot less energy than I do!N. Hampshire, he/him.
