Closed savings account statements?

Is it possible to get old statements from a close Halifax savings account and also a closed ISA account? I know you can get them for old bank accounts, but can’t find any info regarding savings. I tried to phone them today but couldn’t get through when I got a chance to call. I’m trying to sort out my Mothers estate and they have been requested by the DWP.

You should be able to get these as long as they were closed fairly recently. Generally records are kept for 5-6 years or so following account closure. Halifax may want to see evidence that your mother has passed and also that you are authorised to act as executor of her estate however, so factor that in.0
