Amazon returns. How do you actually contact Amazon for a bit of sense?

Can't actually find a suitable forum for this to go in. Using the search function most people seem to ask Amazon questions here so here I am.
So basically I was browsing Amazon late the other night & made a stupid impulse buy.
So it's to be returned - both items.
They were bought separately but arrived together in 1 box. Now that i'm returning both, I've been given 2 returns labels/QRs and need to return them separately.
Can't I just return them in the (1) box they came in? Or rather, how do I contact Amazon to say come on let's use a bit of sense. They came in 1 box surely they can go back in 1 box?!

Much easier just to return them individually with each label, to ensure you're refunded.
They may have come from different sellers.
It makes no sense to risk your refund for the sake of a box.0 -
There's enough threads about issues with Amazon returns so I'd just pack and label them as two returns.
Not worth the hassle of trying to get Amazon to issue one return covering both items when you already have the two individual returns arranged.0 -
Also they will need to scan two barcodes.0

Fair enough. I have enough boxes to cover the lot now anyway so not an issue now.I have until 31-Jan to return so I'll wait until the crazy period is over before I send off.0

Just to throw in the probable reasoning behind it.
Even if they're going to the same address they may well be eventually sent and sorted separately to different Amazon warehouses.
Amazon have some warehouses that do different things. For example, electrical items may be stored in a different place to books.

That's fair enough.Another question regards Amazon returns....I've just had to initiate a return for something & one of the options is a Hermes Drop Off.In fact there's 2 options for Hermes Drop Off. 1 of them is print in store which I always use.The other is no box or label required. Hand it over and they deal with it basically. Now the Hermes Drop Off that I use is a local petrol station. How does this no packing thing go then, because I don't imagine for a second that they're going to be there packaging up my items all nice and secure. They're not going to give a damn about them. I prefer to pack myself.I actually have about 5 or 6 things to return all in all and I've already initiated the return on all bar 1. In error I've actually selected this no packaging option rather than just the plain old print in store.1) They're not going to reject my return because i've packed it i hope? Silly question perhaps but got to ask. I don't know if the QR issued is different in some way. Who knows? Not me.2) If poss, how do you cancel it and select the correct option? Obviously this depends on whether there's an issue with question #1.0

Whenever I've done the packageless return, the garage I take it to just puts it in a paper bag, speaks it and puts the label on it. I don't think that they would care if it was pre-packed or not. The refund is usually issued within hours.
I think that I'd just take it to the garage, stick the label on it and get them to scan it/give you the receipt.
Or, contact Amazon about it.1 -
Yeah the UPS one I did the other day and the Hermes one I did yesterday, I got issued the refund within an hour or so of leaving it with them, which I like as there's nothing more I can do once it's dropped off. If the postal system lose it it my refund shouldn't get penalised for it so I like the quick refund.

The facility is only for small items that can fit into an A4(ish) sized bag.
The product doesn't have to be wrapped, but should be in the original box/packaging.1 -
Just to add a recent experience of mine as a customer. We've left returns in an Amazon locker. One of them never had a refund processed after quite a while. Contacted Amazon on Live Chat and they refunded straight away.
