MSE has been told that Barclaycard is writing to customers who have been affected by system issues and incorrect interest charges and fees. These customers will be refunded back any money they have overpaid.
Are you one of these customers? If so, please do get in touch or comment below on this thread. Barclaycard says it will be contacting any customers who it believes have been affected either by post or email.
Thank you.

What difference does it make if they've been told they would be refunded?0

I received a letter from what appears to be Barclaycard yesterday (suspicious it's a scam). Apparently I'm due a refund of £12.00. They are asking for my bank details so they can pay it in and gives a web address where I can do that. But I'm not sure this is genuine?0

If Barclays were to refund I would have thought a credit on the account would be their preferred method.0 -
It's the Barclays website address - I should have said. I think it's genuine as they are sending letters out as per the first post of this thread. I am always suspicious though because these scammers are so clever.0

You can phone Barclaycard - look up their details online - and ask them to send you a cheque.
Earlier this year I received a letter from HSBC in which they said that I had been overcharged some 15 years ago. I thought it must be a silly scam but a cheque was attached. I paid the cheque into my current account without any issue. The amount was considerably more than £12.
If HSBC can send me a cheque, then there's no reason why Barclaycard can't send you one. If it's a genuine refund, then they should just send you a cheque without any problem. In fact, it wouldn't have hurt them to attach it to their letter. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
