Damp under bath - help please!

I had a very similar situation - I put down puppy pads so that they covered the main areas of dampness and then a large lunch box on top just on the darkest area.(if that makes sense!)
I checked under the bath every few days and it controlled things.
Bathroom due a revamp soon so am happy I stopped the rot and it hasn't cost me a fortune!1 -
There is normally a screw in the centre of the plughole which holds it in place and also helps to seal it. Double check that it's done up tightly (has happened to me a couple of times).

Puppy pads! Didn’t even think about those and have some in the house, great idea! I think I’ll do the same and wait for the renovation. The floorboard has started to rot but as long as I prevent it getting worse I’m hoping it should be fine!Working_Mum said:I had a very similar situation - I put down puppy pads so that they covered the main areas of dampness and then a large lunch box on top just on the darkest area.(if that makes sense!)

It’ll be the bath waste leaking looking at the picture Center screw loose.Be very careful trying to tighten it, as they are only steel ( brass coated) and they tend to snap due to rusting.
less than a fiver to buy, but a good one £20A thankyou is payment enough .1 -

Update, put a puppy pad down (thanks for the suggestion) filled the bath about 1/4 full and this is what was there after it was emptied. Was dry until bath was emptied so definitely think it’s the waste

Screw will be top of the waste, where you fit the plugsbird90 said:

Don't try anything to fix it for the next few days. It will break and you'll be without a bath altogether until you can get a plumber to fix it next year!Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.1
