Slinky said:The email didn't include anything about the SVT, hence me coming on here to ask the question. The £327 rate is just the annual rate divided by 12, I actually checked out OTM a couple of days ago for a quote, and they wanted something like £480 a month for the winter uplift! I did a search for quotes and there wasn't anything else out there I'd be wanting to shift to.We were in credit by about £180 at the end of November so I'm confident we're on track to be in credit still at the end of the fix at the end of January. Our use is higher than average as we have a 4 bed house with a 20-30 year old boiler. We're both at home for most of the day, although we only heat the house for 3 hours in the morning and 3 in the evening. Hopefully when we get some building work done next year we'll clarify if the cavity walls have been filled or not, and the boiler will be upgraded. Undecided at this point whether to swap out the gas hob for electric as had been our plan.I think I'll take my chances and go onto the SVT. To lock into a rate 3 times higher than our current one would be insane I think.
Given what you say, I suggest you contact OTM and ask them:
1. What would be the annual cost (based on current prices) if you were to do nothing
2. What the tariff detail is for their default tariff
3. What cost per month your DD would be set at if yoiu accept the fixed tariff they have offered you
4. What the cost per month your DD would be set at if you were to do nothing
Ensure OTM give details of how they calculate 3&4 above - they usually do so automatically.
Only when you have all the data in front of you, can you make an informed decision.
Let us know how you get on

Slinky said:... Trying to budget, our fix runs out at the end of January, they are inviting me to re-fix at £327.30 a month!!!! ...Our fix with Outfox is also ending next month and we got an email a few days ago with 3 options along with their cost given our annual consumption. These options were the standard variable tariff, a fixed tariff (at more than twice the SVT price) and a further variable tariff (at the same price as the SVT).The email did say that we'd be put on the SVT if we didn't choose any option.1

Thanks for that Phil, I've just realised there was more further down the email, I just clicked on the link which takes me to the very expensive fixed tarriff. Nowhere can I find out how to select the other (duplicated) tarriff options and will have to rely on it defaulting me on to the SVT.Just checking our consumption, we've reduced our electric by 300kwh and gas by 1000kwh over the previous year, but more work to do. Hope it's not a cold winter.Make £2025 in 2025

I got this far and didn't scroll any further as the text suggested the link would take me to a variety of options, rather than the single expensive tarriff it took me to.
