P45 before last overtime pay

I’d be grateful for any advice.
I received a P45 in November with my final monthly pay however I received overtime pay in December which is not included in the P45.
Ex employer (large company) are not being very helpful - offshore department are not that good.
do I need to pass on my final payslip to new employer so they can account for it in PAYE and eventually P60?

Or can I just account for it in self assessment? (I have to do this anyway due to a dividend income stream)
thanks in advance

Give your P45 to your new employer. Your old employer is not permitted to issue another P45. HMRC will be advised of the details of any payment made after the P45 has been issued and they should also advise you of the details. With real time details going to HMRC I would expect them to advise your new employer of the details in due course.
If you are not a higher rate tax payer the tax deducted from this late payment should be correct, though if you are into paying higher rate tax there will be some under-deduction to be corrected.2 -

Right, so it should get included on my P60 then? I will check come may 2022.

Yes, but I would expect to get a P60 from my new employer around May,JCS1 said:
Just checking that you know you won't get a P60 from your previous employer, as you had a P45 instead?lisyloo said:Right, so it should get included on my P60 then? I will check come may 2022.
thanks
i can then check whether it includes the December overtime.
i often use the p60 when doing my tax return but I’ll need to check this time whether it includes the overtime or not to get the correct figure.

You should be able to check before that. Your payslip will have a figure for taxable pay to date this will include the earnings from the P45 when your new employer applies it and when HMRC advise them of these post P45 earnings they will be included here as well.2

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Thanks guys, you’ve been a lot more helpful than (offshore HR).
when the question is difficult it appears they just don’t answer which is unacceptable for a large global organisation0
