Car Finance

I hope you are relaxing with your family ahead of the festivities. I have an issue I would really like your advice with. I bought a new Mercedes on finance and traded in my old car… all lovely and collected my new shiny car…. No issues or so I thought !! Something was niggling me and I emailed the franchise to ask and have confirmation the outstanding finance on old car had been cleared. Well as you can guess!! To my horror they informed me that due to an error from there finance team, the finance has not been settled. To say I’m fuming is an understatement!! I’ve given them new settlement statement and asked for full investigation and breakdown of all monies due back to me. Over a month had passed from me collecting new car to now. I’ve been offered a poxy free valet in new year !! Well for me that’s an insult!! Question is are they in breach of the contract they have with me ?? I’ve still not had confirmation of settlement. Can you help?? X

    What help do you need?

Did they retain the money and now just need to send it to the finance company?

As it relates to finance on your old car, Have you had to make a further payment on this finance? If you have then they owe you that amount. If not then they owe you nothing.

If you go in guns blazing on "breach of the contract" then they will want you new car back.

All it is, is a mess up at their end.

  • Hi, Thanks for your replies …I have had to pay another car payment and also the difference between first settlement figure on my contact payments. So the difference between the two is also due back to me. I certainly won’t be going in all guns blazing I’m just so utterly disappointed with service. I get it human errors happen it’s just so poor that I’m left in this position. I feel like I can’t go into the garage to sort it out !!!
