Help with car salary sacrifice

Can anyone give me any help on what to do next please. I have a car leased through work, it’s due to end June 22. It’s a people carrier petrol car. It had to go into garage in august for exhaust and it’s been there since! There was a recall on the car and now we’re waiting on the part, no update as to when it will arrive. I can’t take the car apparently due to the recall.
They have given me an all electric small car which I am charging most days at 1 hour a time.
Nobody taking any responsibility, lease company saying it’s like a phone contract and I lose the phone and still have to pay.
Can anyone advise on what next steps I can take please. Thanks

What does the lease contract say their obligations are when it comes to the supply of the vehicle?  You need to read that and see if they aren't doing something they are supposed to be.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Hi sarahnoo23, the reason you have not got any advice on this page is because salary sacrifice cars have nothing to do with consumer rights.
The way it works is that your employer leases the car from the leasing company (so that is a B2B contract) and then your employer will lease that car to you, so that is subject to your contract of employment.

I note that your deal commenced with a petrol car but you are now leasing an electric (therefore zero emissions) car. This will doubtless be because of recent changes in how HMRC tax salary sacrifice cars. Very basically the tax-free benefits of the scheme have been withdrawn for petrol and diesel cars making the scheme attractive only for electric vehicles.
  • @sarahnoo23 -  you need to take this up with your employer.
