I am looking for a car seat that is good for a 2 year old, we have a britax one at the moment and he pushes himself forward whilst touching the bit that slackens the seatbelt, keeps doing it and so am looking for a seat that would be suitable!
need a seat that he wouldnt be able to open, any thoughts?

Should a two year old be able to push the seat belt button in? It's usually too stiff......even my six year old can't get my two year old out of her seat.
Are you sure that it's not faulty?
Edit....I've just realised what button you mean. I still don't think a two year old should be able to compress it though? Can you not cover the button with something to stop him doing it?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

tried that didnt work, he now finds it highly funny that he can do it so need a new seat that he is unable to do that in

The pickle!
Would he be able to sit still in something like this? I just ask as it looks like there may be more future in it as it's more like a booster seat too?
Or do you need tighter straps do you think?
I've only used Britax and I think they've all got that adjuster on it. You may be best off browsing somewhere like Mothercare and seeing if you can then get a bargain on your preferred model online?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

that looks as if that might do the trick:D his fun and games will hopefully stop with that and it will grow with him too.
Thanks:beer:

Have to say I had a look at that car seat. I can't understand how it can be safe for a 12 month old, would a 12 month old sit still and be safe in that car? I have to say I think I would worry, I may be wrong but think I would panic if I tried and put my 22 month old daughter in a seat like that. Is it harder for a little one to wriggle about in those seat that it looks?January Grocery 11/3740

I think you'd need to perhaps see how it fitted into the car before you could make a decision.
My two year old would sit well in it as there isn't really anything to tamper with. But I'd have to see it up close to know for sure. I thought it may be good for the OP as it doesn't have any buttons to press!

back to square one, it looked good as there were no buttons to press, went onto the which site and it is one of their avoid ones as it is using the adult seat belt.
it is a britax eclipse si we have just now so no idea what to go for next

Unfortunately, no child car seat is childproof as they have to unlock easily in case of emergency.
I would use stickers or some other reward for not messing about with it if he's a 'carrot' kind of child.
Actually, scrap that idea. I've just remembered what I did with mine. The first time he did it, we were going out somewhere really exciting. I brought him back in the house and cancelled our trip. I told him I'd do that every time he did it as it wasn't safe to take him in the car unsecured. Problem solved, though it may take a few times to get the message across.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

Actually, that's exactly what I did with my eldest son as he kept tucking his arms out of the straps. It worked too!
I called Britax to see if they had something (a clip or something) to stop him doing it and they said thatno car seat is child proof. They can't be as you have to be able to open them quickly in an emergency. ie. exactly what you've just said Gingham!"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
