Anyone installed black/anthracite internal doors?

We have 4 doors coming off the hallway, and all floors are old oak herringbone parquet which are now a slightly gingerish tint. The doors and frames need to be replaced and we love a contemporary look. The long term plan is to sand/paint/varnish the floors to make them look whitewashed.
We have chosen some modern doors and frames, but are agonising over the colour. The choice is white or anthracite. We are leaning towards anthracite as white everything may look too clinical. Has anyone done something similar in their house?

Our internal doors are black. What's the question? They're fire door blanks, the architrave isn't architrave, it's only
about as thick as roofing batons. The handles are black, as are the hinges, and weren't cheap, they're a Carlisle Brass copy of Buster & Punch.I'm not really one pre-finished door in the house. It's a
bit commercial for my liking.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Robat, Google images is your friend. You'll find some pics that'll have a 'gingerish' wood floor and (what colour?) walls, and anthracite doors. If it looks good, go for it.I have to say I chickened out a bit with our new extension - med-oak floors, white walls, anthracite bifolds and windows. I was seriously tempted to go for anthracite skirtings and door mouldings, visualising that crisp dark line separating the oak floor from the white walls, and going up and over the white V-grooved doors, so I painted a length of skirting in anthra, and placed it in position. Kept walking in, and trying to 'see' it from the corner of my eye and stuff. Truth told, sometimes it looked as tho' it would be great, and other times 'too much' - a distraction.Went for white... :-(You mention 'white everything' - does that mean your walls will be white? And, if you go for anthra doors and archi, what will the skirting boards be?If you cannot find a pic that 'tells' you what it'll look like, then sometimes you just have to paint it and see. (I 'compromised' by painting the window cills anthra...)My gut says that anthra doors within a white frame (ie white archi) could look really striking, and work well. The doors would need to have a 'shape', tho', such as T&G V-grooves, or summat.
