Best electric underfloor heating brand?

Hi All,

I’m planning on installing electric underfloor heating in my new bathroom.

Can anyone recommend any brands as being any better than others please?  I’ve no previous experience with underfloor heating - so any advice would be massively appreciated.

I have been looking at Warm Up and Prowarm to date.

Thank you so much.

Best wishes,
James

  • I don't have a experience of a range of brands as I've only done it once, but doing it first time as a DIY-er it came off well, so I'd recommend the Raychem one from CTD (the 165W/m2 trade one, not the 90W/m2 one)

I wanted one that packed a punch so went with the 165W/m2, as my heat loss calculation suggested I needed it. I also wanted a wifi connected thermostat, as I can't be dealing with punching tiny buttons to programme it. The app is straightforward to use.

This does what I need, so I wouldn't swap it. But others probably work to. Are they all fundamentally the same? I think the usability of the thermostat is the only potential differentiator, and that's more about buying a premium one rather than the budget option, rather than a particular brand.
  • Have heard from installers Rayotec elite kits and Boden warme kits are good (one was more powerful than the other.cant remember) although many of the mat's look generic There is a good choice of manual or wifi thermostats to choose from.

I've had WarmUp before but used Prowarm in the most recent installation combined with a WarmUp Thermostat, seems to work well with no noticeable difference.

My favourite to use is Rayotec. I've used them for projects for many years, and installed it in my bathroom recently.

You need to get the build-up correct, so have a look at their installation details on their website.

I've used Ambient UFH for years, it's reasonably priced, never had any problems and it's decent quality.

you get a few options for the type of stat which are all the same price i thnk, one of them looks fancy and is touch screen and people are always tempted to get this but they are absolute junk from china that are hard to use, just select the basic heatmiser PRTE-E stat
