    That makes it a bit easier. It's just a question of the external lintel being suitable. Some cast stone lintels are not reinforced, but these are supported with a catnic or similar lintel and are decorative. It's possible that your lintel was designed to span that without any support and the mullions are decorative although they would help the lintel.
  • Probably need some catnic if its cavity wall . Hard to tell if what you have would be any good / Take building advice from a few people to see what they think . Nice view

    Hoping a surveyor friend and the glazier will be able to give details in what's needed, but seem like it should be possible to do.

    Guess it comes down to cost of replacing the lintel - both parts and labour.
