G24 Parking fine

Hi everyone, sorry if this is the wrong category but I have received a parking fine from G24 for parking outside a bay in Aldi's carpark Salford, at the time I was in my Royal mail van delivering to the store, I was no more than 5 minutes. I did not use a customers bay or park on a hazard box or a disabled spot and not on any yellow lines. I have spoken to the manager of the store, who was very helpful but told me it has nothing to do with them anymore. I know there are lots of post's on this, but the last one was 2018, I just wondered if the law had changed in the last 3 years with regard to these fines and I have to pay it, or if they are still scamming people. thank you.

I'd normally suggest putting this in the parking sub-forum, but surely this is a matter for your employer? Why are you dealing with it? It's not a fine in the normal sense, these "tickets" are really speculative invoices, but the old "ignore it" advice no longer stands and there is a particular process to follow, but as I said, this is surely a matter for your employer because the ticket was incurred as a result of your normal business.scab1es said:Hi everyone, sorry if this is the wrong category but I have received a parking fine from G24 for parking outside a bay in Aldi's carpark Salford, at the time I was in my Royal mail van delivering to the store, I was no more than 5 minutes. Is it an Aldi-only site, or a retail park? (Aldi usually use Parking Eye for parking "management").
If Aldi-only complain like billyo to the store manager, the CEO and the Aldi Facebook page.
If retail park then find out who is the landowner/manager and complain like billyo to them.
For further targeted advice, get thee to the Parking board.

Thanks for replying, I couldn't find the parking board under the category drop down menu, but Aldi is on a site with other retailers, I tried to speak to the management of the centre, but they were insistent on me contacting G24, as for it being RM problem as I was just doing my duty, policies have changed and every driver is eligible for any parking/speeding fines. I have handed it to a different manager at work to see if he can get it cancelled.

That seems unfair in circumstances like yours, where you're required to deliver to a store and park perfectly lawfully. I can understand it if drivers are negligent/lazy, but where could you have lawfully and freely parked to deliver to the store, other than in their own car park?scab1es said:Thanks for replying, I couldn't find the parking board under the category drop down menu, but Aldi is on a site with other retailers, I tried to speak to the management of the centre, but they were insistent on me contacting G24, as for it being RM problem as I was just doing my duty, policies have changed and every driver is eligible for any parking/speeding fines. I'd be speaking to HR for help if the other manager can't support.2 -
I think the problem in this case is where the OP parked. If they'd actually parked in a customer space there wouldn't (shouldn't) have been an invoice issued. OP should still raise merry hell with Aldi, their management and the retail site owners/managers.Aylesbury_Duck said:

I was delivering to the store and didn't want to deny a customer a space, the car park was very busy and I was only in there a couple of minutes.0
