Good morning all, thank you Scarlett for starting us off.
Seems very mild, but air not damp outside. Working my way through a mountain of washing, having to use the dryer, too much bedding to have hanging around the house, although the dehumidifier would speed it up and keep the damp at bay. White load to go in now and then OH tells me he has more to do. Need to do all the dog washing last and then give the machine a good clean.
Somehow have to get the house presentable for 27th, not an easy task as it is in a sorry state, Chronic Fatigue means I have not been able to keep up with it, aiming to try and find a cleaner at some stage, but so many things to jettison or find a home for. I have some ornaments which I love and to me it is not a clutter, but having to move things to dust and keep them clean is a struggle, particularly as things easily slip out of my fingers, well enough moans from me, it will get done somehow.
Sending hugs and spoons to all that are poorly or worried about loved ones that are not well, keeping fingers crossed too for those hoping to spend times with loved ones, all so uncertain atm.
Right, tea has been drunk, breakfast needed and then get on with it. Have the best day that you can.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)13 -
Morning, hugs if you need one, Hope your family will be feeling better soon NMLC.
Quick one this morning after 3 days of fog, it appears to have cleared. We have a busy morning, chiropodist, then into town to collect a shop from Aldi and call and see our old neighbour, then home to, I hope, a clean house, and thats me done for the rest of the holiday. Will just be chilling.
Possibly a ding dinner tonight depends how shattered I am when we get back.12 -
Morning all, at last the fog has lifted after 2 days. I didn't get on here yesterday as my laptop threw all it's toys out of the pram 😒 I handed it over to my tech man ( Mr Fix It ) who had to completely wipe it and then start again from scratch, took 5 hrs to sort out. I couldn't get on to MSE either, because some idiot kept putting in the wrong password..... that'll be me then !!
No builder today, Mr Fix It keeps giving him more work to be done and the concrete pour is getting pushed further back, so the building site remains but I have a gained a new patio ornament, a dirty cement mixer, very chic. Wonder if I could adorn it with xmas lights ? 😂 I've given up hoping to have a tidy garden in time for xmas, I'm having enough trouble sorting the house out, my heart isn't in it at the moment.
I had words with Dad over the weekend about whether he's coming to us on xmas day and boxing day. He's afraid to come over in case he catches covid from DD and the DGC even though they have all tested negative now ( SiL will be going to watch his beloved Liverpool as he does every Boxing day ) yet Dad will get into his neighbour's car because he hasn't got it ! I asked him how he knows and he says he just does 🤔 Well he can please himself whether he comes or not. Sorry for the rant.
Today I need to prep 2 kgs of carrots, thought I'd only ordered one, oops! We had a lovely roast chicken dinner yesterday, cooked in our new xmas pressie to ourselves, a ninja foodie max. Think it will be a learning curve with the timings etc. and I'm still apprehensive with the pressure cooker part. There's plenty of chicken left so I will strip the chicken carcass and have some sort of chicken dish for tea. I'm still wrapping presents but it's a few per day, only a few bits for DGS's left and then DGD's. Later I need to put the bins out and clean the kitchen floor as Mr Fit It decided it would look better covered in chicken fat/residue 😣
Right enough waffling. Hugs to the poorly ones and those struggling.
NMLC I hope your symptoms are mild for your family.
taff your car problems sound like our internet one. They just go on and on and on.
TA hope your toe feels better this morning.
Take care all

Morning all, sorry to hear you're positive nmlc- hope it's a mild dose.TA we had the fog too, wasn't too bad round us but when we went to watch DGD at her football match you could hardly see from one end to the other,it probably should have been called off. As we got nearer home it was bright blue skies so we went over the tops and it was quite spectacular- the town and the town hall in the distance with just its top poking through the fog with the hills all around bathed in sunlight.I have a list as long as my arm today but another brew first! We did some emulsioning yesterday, just a few bits left in the kitchen. My table is out of action as DH re-oiled it yesterday and it's gone all weird & sticky for some reason so he's going to get some white spirit to take it off. Quick tea tonight leftover curry from the takeaway on SaturdayHope no-one else gets the 'damn virus' as someone put in their Xmas card to us the other day! Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)13

Morning all.
Thanks for the thread Scarlet and hugs to all those in need.
No plans here, it's dull and dreary.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.11 -
Definitely getting a cold - inevitable with the fumes. At least I can keep cosy.I've changed the bedding at last, had two boiled eggs for breakfast, filled up one log bag and will go back out for the other one soon. There's been a heavy frost overnight but at least the fog has cleared.Nan - Dads can be so contrary, I sympathise with you.

Afternoon everyone
Really enjoying having eldest DD home - but she's planning to go home a week earlier than planned - to quote her - 'I'm not getting stuck in England!' She was meant to stay till 3rd January but will probably go back to Germany about 28th December instead as she has to quarantine for 2 weeks now when she gets back. She's quite happy as she'll be here for Christmas. Mam and dad were so happy to see her yesterday - it had been a year - dad was beaming, it was lovely to see.
We were out early this morning - got the bus up to Aldi and got various Christmassy bits then we walked down into town and went for hot chocolate. I've adjusted my Tesco order for tomorrow.
Little one is with her daddy today - he's going to drop her off at teatime, to stay over - DD is going to Primark at Edinburgh.
We took her and my little great-nephew to see Santa last night - he drives round the town in the back of a truck throwing sweets, with music playing. We stood for ages - little nephew kept saying to her ' you've just got to be patient you know, like me' - he's 4! Anyways they were very impressed.
Going down to do a job for my dad, then I have a date on the sofa with yesterday's paper which never got opened....before my peace is shattered. DD has gone back into town to see friends.
Sorry to hear you have Covid NMLC - hope it's not too bad.
Hope everyone's having a good day12 -
Not been on here since Thursday. I ended up helping at two events on Friday so Saturday was a resting up day.
Been very foggy here at the sea side.
Still wrapping Christmas presents. Had a visit from family - they stayed in garden while I was at front door.
Waiting to hear if SA events will go ahead.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
