Maybe a second iphone 6/7 on ebay will cost you less than 100.0

Look at marketplace near you. then you can see and test it before paying. Plenty of smart phones for around £100 near me.0

Why buy second hand when you can buy new for around £100.
What does a second hand one with no warranty and a partially used battery give you that a shiny new one with 12-24 months warranty doesn't? Just askingNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
I always buy used. Either from Amazon renewed or CEX. Both places come with a 12 and 24 month warranty respectively. Every phone I’ve bought this way has been spotless albeit with a slightly degraded battery. An older premium phone is better in every way than shiny brand new £100 phone. Not to mention the ecological aspects.matelodave said:Why buy second hand when you can buy new for around £100.

What qualifies as "equivalent"? That is a genuine question, not a facetious comment.Misteek said:So fellas ive cracked my galaxy s7. So i need a cheap replacement, under 100 quid second hand on ebay etc.

What do you actually need the phone to do?
I had the Samsung Galaxy S2 and then swapped up to the Galaxy S4. Then the ongoing costs creeped too near, or even over, £1k (whether purchased or added to the monthly plan) which I thought was really too much for a product that only seems to last a coupe of years.
So, I bought the Moto G4 which was much cheaper but did everything the Samsung did just as well as the Samsung did it, albeit sometimes with a little less graphical aesthetics (if I recall, the text message balloons were slightly more pleasing on the Samsung). An extra £900 every two years is a lot for slightly neater text message balloons. To counter that, the Moto G-Series batteries are far longer lasting than the Samsung ever were. Both types of phones work on Android so exactly the same user-interface functionally.
Anyway, we found the Moto's so good that both my wife and I are converted and can't see any reason that we'd want to revert to anything else. The latest phone was bought was £99:

I highly recommend that phone. (In fact, I've linked it a few times this week and wary that I don't look like a stooge - I am not.)
It may not be for everyone, and I can imagine some users that are doing highly graphic intensive online gaming might not find it as responsive, or young people won't be able to impress their mates with the latest designer phone (but they will be able to impress their future life-partner with their financial acumen).
I'd certainly say, for the OP, the phone like the above (or the equivalent Nokia's which seem fairly comparable - when we first selected the Moto, it came down to a coin-toss between that and the nearest Nokia) would be a better option than a second-hand iPhone6 because it uses the same Android operating system that the OP is familiar with on the Samsung they have now. Another big thing for the OP here is that they may find they like the Moto G-Series and decide to stick with it for the long term, or they tried and prove that their preference for the premium-priced Samsung Galaxy S-series is what they actually want and know in the future that they are getting benefit for the extra £900 each time they buy a phone.
Failing that, the link from Deleted_User is another alternative for an emergency phone solution but I think that would be a stretch to describe as "equivalent" to the Samsung Galaxy S7. It is an option though, and I keep a similar phone for occasional use.
Good luck OP, and do feed back with your outcome.
