Evening all
I had a credit card with Halifax dating back to 2011, which I defaulted on and was sold on back in 2017.
I had a credit card with Halifax dating back to 2011, which I defaulted on and was sold on back in 2017.
I successfully challenged the default date recently and they agreed that the default date should have been 2013 and not 2017 (and therefore no longer on my credit file).
The debt has been sold on twice, and is now owned by Intrum (but managed by Moorcroft). The default shows twice on my file currently, one with Halifax and one by Intrum (for the same debt).
What is the process to ensure Intrum also remove the default from my file? Because it’s been sold on twice, I assume Halifax won’t know who currently own etc.
some pointers as to any step I should take would be much appreciated.
I hope this makes sense.
thanks.

That is correct.
As long as the default date is correct on both entries, both will fall off your file on update.
The Halifax entry will show the date of default and a zero balance.
The Intrum entry should show the same default date, and the outstanding balance.
