There is someone breaking the chain in every chain, otherwise there would be no housing market.jenni_fer said:I've not sought out any stats but I'm fairly sure that most people don't want to sell their house, they want to move house...the two sides are linked and always will be for most.
Likewise, im pretty confident chains are still more likely than not in house buying and selling and that will continue.
Agree to strongly disagree @lookstraightahead!
I don't get your point about selling and moving.
But ok, agree to strongly disagree.0 -
Selling = I don't want this house any more.
Moving = I want to upgrade my house1 -
The majority of people want to move not sell. End of chains tend to be probate, rentals and relocation rather than people wanting to move into rental to facilitate a easier move. The UK rental market isn't geared up to short term let's like in other countries that don't have chains.jenni_fer said:Selling = I don't want this house any more.

Of course it happens but it will in no way become the norm.0 -
Facilitating an easier move is exactly my point. Otherwise you're relying on probate or relocation within your chain, if you 'won't' move to help the process. No wonder buyers get fed up.Snookie12cat said:
