Worth noting for those still hoping to find a way to get out to ski trips avoiding France

Latest update:Updated information that from 23:01 on 19 December, only German citizens and residents may travel to Germany from the UK (there are limited exemptions). Permitted travellers must now have proof of a negative Covid test, regardless of vaccination status. All permitted travellers arriving in Germany after 23:01 on 19 December must quarantine at home for 14 days irrespective of their vaccination status. Updated information about testing requirements for HGV drivers from the UK who are entering Germany, and they may be required to quarantine depending on time spent in the UK or Germany ('Entry requirements' page).

I have a flight going out to Germany in a few days with BA (I'm sure that can be refunded) and the return is with easyjet on 1 Jan. I am thinking that it may be difficult to qualify for a refund with easyjet as it's just a return trip? I have insurance but MSE advises not to go down that route if you can. I have had ongoing worldwide travel insurance with the same provider for 5 years.0

If the flights are still going , you will be able to cancel and get a voucher from BA .
With Easy Jet , if the flight is still going you can Transfer your flight fee free -up to 2 hours before your departure to another date / destination . If the new fare is higher you will have to pay the difference. It depends on the T& Cs of your travel insurance policy as to whether it will provide anything better than this. Since the UK Gov is not (at the time of writing ) banning travel to these destinations many travel policies do not cover this scenario. Hopefully your policy is one that does.0 -

If the host country is banning us, would that not be the same thing as the UK banning travel as we are not allowed to enter?1 -

EDIT: BA not so helpful. Only saying will refund if flight is cancelled.1 -
