Investec Savings account

Hi, has anyone been able to set up an account with Investec I have tried twice tonight and I get an email back both times that states the following
  • Your ID document has expired   
  • The photo of your ID document doesn't contain all four corners of the document
  • The photo of your ID document isn't clear
  • The photo of your face ('selfie') isn't clear
  • You use a printed photo or a photo of a digital screen
  • The name provided in your application doesn't match your ID document
  • We can't accept the type of ID document you've supplied
None of these apply as I made sure the ID was clear and the system was able to take my date of birth from it, 

Seems like they don't want to offer the 0.71%

  • Had the acct for about 6 months. Excellent acct, easy to use, fast movement of money in and out. Good customer service. User friendly website. Used driving licence to open account and had no problem as acct set up instantly. Never thought I would say this about an account but even better than Marcus. Not sure why you should struggle to open the acct
  • Thank you Malchester can I ask a silly question? Do you remember if you took the photo of the licence by portrait or landscape? I am wondering if that might be a thing. I checked to make sure the full licence showed as had that issue before when dealing with another bank service. I know the ID was clear as it automatically read my date of birth from it. I will wait till live chat is available and I have also messaged them through facebook messenger. Thank you for your reply as now feel it is worth continuing instead of going elsewhere.

    Cynergy have an easy access at 0.70%
    Easy opened. Didn't have to send any ID documents,

          I have held accounts with BoC/Cynergy continuously for 10 years plus - didn't stop them 2 weeks ago asking for the following:

  • Thank you all, I have made another attempt to make an application and this time I have taken my glasses off to see it that makes a difference. They dont tell you to do it, but my driving licence photo does not have them on so hope that is the reason. Never had this with opening an Oxbury notice savings account. Damn just got an email saying they cant confirm my ID. What a waste of time.

    Not a silly question but I cannot remember which way round i took it. Glasses off was a good idea. Only used their live chat once but they were very helpful
