What to do with post for previous house owners?

That's not how it works. Otherwise everyone with a debt could just reply 'no longer at this address' and never be chased up again.

And data protection also (arguably) means not making alterations to your account because a random stranger has told them that your address is out of date.

I'm getting post for the previous occupants (was rented before I bought). For now I'm doing RTS and sticking them back in the post but after a couple of more weeks they'll be going in the bin.

Lots appear to be bank statements etc., from the envelopes.

I can't understand why people don't get a redirection set up AND tell those they deal with that they've changed address!!!

There are bigger time thieves surely. If we all thought about how much we inadvertently put out someone else, I'm sure we would all find many personal faults. The thing that annoys me the most is having to wait whilst someone reverses into a space on the side of the road.

I suppose the control we have over someone else's mail is what inspires us to be so awkward.
