How r close the BBC Sound Ap on iPhone?

How can I close BBC Sound App on my iPhone. The phones software is up to date.
I’m listening to my local BBC Radio Station but while I can stop (pause) the radio it keeps running in the background, no sound it just keeps running, if I swipe down say 15, 25mins 2 hrs 3 hrs it is still running in the background.
I just don’t see a way to close the app completely
