    No. There is no requirement for child element of UC to go to the same person as CB.
    Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

  • Not sure on this scenario.
    The OP is obviously entitled to claim as a single person, but the kids would still be living with both parents so i suspect it may be more complicated to claim that they are the ones providing for the kids

    Yeah, basically until we sell the house and I go back to work full time I can't afford a house, my wife and new man need to save before they can buy a place so selling at the moment wouldn't work, whether or not the DWP will see it that way I don't know!
