X box 360 has died (red dot/overheating -I know, I know... U tube, pull apart.. solder.. but I am not capable). All of my games were £5-10). Buy a new set up. £450 (no games). Games are now £40-50!. i WOULD ONLY WANT THESE SORT.. Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc. Shoot em ups. No need to play on line or with others. No need to watch videos, etc.
Which to buy ? Why? TIA

That's a bit of a loaded question. For everyone saying buy an Xbox (and I'm one of them) there will be as many telling you to go for a PS. The latest Xbox and PS5 consoles are very hard to come buy and as a result are commanding huge prices so not the best time to get a new console, might be better to look for a second hand Xbox One or PS4 and go from there.
From my perspective I own an Xbox One and get most of my games content via the Xbox Game Pass service and if I want to buy a game I'll look out for deals or buy used.0 -
It depends on which one has the games you want to play. If both do then toss a coin if you don't have any particular preference.castle96 said:X box 360 has died (red dot/overheating -I know, I know... U tube, pull apart.. solder.. but I am not capable). If your not after the latest and greatest games, then i suggest an xbox and game pass. There is plenty of content on there, and for the price of a couple of games you can pay for a year of game pass access.0

XBox or PS. That's easy the answer is a PC...

You play both on a PC. Playstation Now and Gamepass for the PC.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Game pass - how does this work then. X box(say) will be connected to a modern TV (no internet). How do I get the games to come on the x-box?? My PC/modem are in another room so.... (sorry to sound dim!)0

Sold my PS4 a couple years ago. I see the value hasn't changed at all. Still sells for what I sold mine for.Out of interest, why is there STILL a supply issue on the consoles? I could understand this time last year as I believe they'd not long been out but it's like they've been in short supply right from the get go and that doesn't seem to have ever changed.0

You connect the console to the internet. You can use Wi-Fi if necessary.

so I dont need a lead to connect to modem? Is there a switch/option on the x box to choose wifi?0

Microchips? That's the key reason being espoused for the long lead times for new cars, so I imagine the same would apply for consoles.JustAnotherSaver said:Out of interest, why is there STILL a supply issue on the consoles?

It will connect automatically once set up. For gamepass the higher the broadband speed the better, certainly needs to be in the hundreds of meg for rapid downloads. Popular games could be a 10 GB download.castle96 said:so I dont need a lead to connect to modem? Is there a switch/option on the x box to choose wifi?0
