Good morning, seems quite mild this morning.I've had a bad night, so finally gave in and got up. I'll be on my knees later, and we've got Dgs for a few hours, he'll certainly keep me awake. We usually ask Dd if we can see him on a Thursday, it's a non nursery day, and he likes to come and play with "our" toys. It's a change from his I suppose. There seems to be a lot happening on the thread these days, I've just been reading through yesterday's posts, it's nice to see though. It's a sad time for Bella and Csarina though, Bella a year already, how it's slipped away.Glad everything's ok for your DD DP1, what a relief! Hope you're feeling better. How is your granddaughter?TA, it's nice that you're seeing your beloved girls, they sound lovely.I had a good morning at Dob*ies yesterday, it was busy, we were there till about 12.30, and had a wander round before leaving. They have some lovely Christmas stuff in, expensive though, I didn't buy, being a cheapskate.I did my cards yesterday afternoon, I'm so late this year, and took them straight down to catch the last post of the day, so that's another job jobbed.Thinking of everyone who is not well,or has poorly relatives.Take care folks13

Morning to all who follow, not very often I can say that but another one who gave up on sleep, too much running through my mind.We went to the garden centre yesterday and we came home with a new set of lights ( our old ones had given up the ghost, well half of them anyway ) a snow globe water book which is so sparkly and pretty and a poinsettia plant. We stopped for coffee and the first mince pie of the season, but it was full of spice and nearly cauterised my tongue ! The afternoon was taken up with moving different sets of lights around as I wasn't fussed about the ones on the fireplace garland, but that's sorted now and looks lovely. I didn't get around to remaking the centre piece so that's still pending but I think I'll defrost the chest freezer today while it's almost empty. Hoping the builders will be back today too as I'm itching to clean the path and steps of all the mud but that won't happen until they have finished, it would be pointless.Dp1 happy news about your DDScarlett I'm late with everything this year. I keep thinking we're still in November and I have plenty of time 🤔Hugs to all the poorly ones and anyone in needTake care allnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13

Nanny, I've had a far too "relaxed" attitude to Christmas this year! We'll get there in the end though. I was far more organised when I worked full time, had to be I suppose. Now I'm too carefree about it!

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I was another up and at 'em at silly o'clock. A wandering mind and painful toe to blame. If it wasn't bad enough suffering painful legs my big toe has now joined in. I am assuming it's an ingrowing toenail and a search of symptoms confirms it. No point wasting my time trying to see anyone about it so I shall be following the online advice and doing daily soakings etc.
I needed to be up anyway as DD is picking me and Sparkle up about 8.15 at the start of the school run, then we are onwards to the vets (pound signs rolling round eyes already). The lovely vet wanted to review her in a month after her last injection and last week I got a phone call saying it wouldn't be him as he has had his knee replacement op and we will see a different vet. Her usual vet knows her problems well and he was the one who nursed her back to health when the cat rescue people took her in. I don't like seeing anyone else as I don't want them to start messing about with her treatment. If I had an assertive head I would put it on but even after going on an assertiveness course from work I never managed to find one!
Last night DD was making noises about going to Boundary Mills once we have dropped Sparkle back home. I'm not that bothered either way but will go anyway! Any excuse to avoid doing housework!!
My little jaunt round town yesterday was very productive and I spent more down there than I have since the pre-covid days! I came home with two new blouses and a pair of jeans which weren't even on my little list!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad, worried or lonely. DP1 such good news from you. Take care one and all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, air feels milder.
DH and DS1 up and getting ready for work, I'm showered and dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was a use up of the LO roast, yorkshires, served with mash, veg and gravy. Not sure about tonight, will sort something.
Last day at work for my working week - I have loads to do so will try to crack on.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks.Still pitch black outside though it feels a bit milder than last week.Yesterday I did a run to the tip with the cardboard mountain and called into the wee deli on the way home. Once back here I put on a quick white wash which chugged away while I watched an ancient black and white film'The Gay Divorce'. What a joy it was to see Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers do their stuff. Later the postie brought me a parcel from my beloved cousin in Berlin, yet more cardboard but homemade goodies made up for it!I cleared out the wood burner and washed it down ready for it being taken out this morning and then indulged in a Christmas biscuit as a reward. 😀
Last night I browsed around looking for new sofas, I want to replace the two leather ones I bought in 2014. They are fine but the leather isn't the best quality and I really don't want brown anymore. They will be going to a good home so no unnecessary waste. I've sent off for two fabric samples in different shades of dark red to choose.I'm off to Glasgow in a couple of hours so need to throw some things into my bag.Bella - 🥰
Dp1 - what great news about your DD! 🎉
My thoughts are with the sad and poorlies here. 🌺 Happy Thursday to all.14 -
Morning All
Quite mild here and should stay dry for the next few days thank goodness, I'm fed up with rain. Still very dark but the shortest day is coming up and we can look forward to brighter times.
Hugs to you Bella.
Poor little Sparkle, hope she gets on OK.
Enjoy your trip to Glasgow Gers, love the city at Christmas.
Thinking of you Poppy.
Day off Planning day for me today, going to Costco as I couldn't face going during the week after work, the traffic would be awful. Possibly going to a couple of other shops to get the last minute things I can't get locally. For once I didn't wake up too early, 6am was a lovely surprise, especially for a day off!
We had Secret Santa at work yesterday, my gift is lovely and a lot of thought had gone into it. Called to see DD on my way home, they had a lovely time away, especially at the posh hotel, thanks for all your good wishes, the ring is a bit small but beautiful all the same.
Right, I'm off to do nothing for an hour before I go out! Have a good day. Take care.XX12 -
Morning, hugs if you need one. DB is off for his eye test this morning. I need to collect my ring and get a new battery in my watch and a strap for DB's. We are going to call at the nursery on the way home for a snack.
We spent a quiet day yesterday after the coffee morning at the little Chapel. Not sure about tonight's supper, need to do a freezer dip.

Morning all,
Still dark here but looks to be a dry day. Will go to the high street at lunchtime as I need special cards for the parents. I also need to look in the one remaining ladies fashion shop to see if there’s anything remotely suitable for a 50th birthday party we are attending on Saturday. TBH I could quite easily not go, but we’ve all said we would take LFTs beforehand, and all have had at least 2 jabs. My booster not until Monday, DH has to wait a month after Covid, so his is in January now.
Ironing got done last night – KS duvet plus a couple of other bits. I binged watched another couple of episodes of Suits. DH not interested and now I’m on season 3 (of 8?) I’m committed. DH out last night so no resistance!
Poppy – sorry to hear about your relative, sending hugs
Thinking of you bella x
Dp1 – that’s fantastic news about your DD and great that your storm damage is getting fixed
Safe journey Gers
Hope Sparkle is a good girl for the vet TA
Dinner tonight will be salmon, jacket potato and veg. DS2 is working at the golden arches so only DH, DD and me.
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Morning everyone
Just a quickie as it's almost time to go down the hill to work. Got my last couple of cards to pop into the post box on the way past.
Its our Christmas party this afternoon so the kids will be hyper all morning - it will be a long wait.
I have a M and S Christmas sandwich for my lunch - really looking forward to it! It was reduced when I was in last night - only by 50p though - so I thought I'd treat myself.
Little one has adapted well to the oxygen , though sometimes a few tears at bedtime. She's now connected to the oxygen - which makes such a loud noise - and her feeding tube in her tummy - both for the whole night, so it's not exactly comfortable. She has been sleeping a bit longer in the mornings now she's on oxygen, so that's a benefit. She's such a happy livewire - you wouldn't think she had problems to see her running around singing Christmas songs.
Must go - good days everyone x13
