As the Flex account travel insurance is no longer included is there a requirement or any other reason to keep funding either of these accounts with a minimum monthly amount? The Halifax account is just the current account, not the rewards account.I do not remember have got communication from NW that the EU travel insurance as the perk from Flex account is no longer avialable. But I do know that they are not available for new customer. Is it true that EU travel insurance as the perk from Flex account hsa been revoked evn for those who have had it in the past ??Is there any info docoment from their website to explain this ??Thx

I move money in and out each month to cover the minimum deposit, thus waives monthly fee, then move £500 into it, which goes back to Skipton via Halifax debit card each month to cover that requirement, and get £5 cash reward into my account each month in return.
Voila, £60pa
That saving AC account from SBS you mention is not longer available for new customer.

Perhaps you had missed meeting the eligibility criteria one month and so no longer had the benefit of the insurance?adindas said:Norman_Castle said:I've batted £750 between a Nationwide flex account and a Halifax current account for years to benefit from the travel insurance. I certainly received notification of the change and also now, when I log on to my Nationwide accounts, I see a note which repeats the information.1 -
I think you will find that was Colsten / Daliah...General_Grant said:
I think you will find the OP was specifically writing about the Flex Account. You extended this to mention all Flex products and I stated that there was a funding requirement IF you wanted interest with the FlexDirect account but not if interest was not being sought.Deleted User said:General_Grant said:
I think you'll find there is a monthly £1K funding requirement for FlexDirect if you want to receive interest. Of course, if you don't want the 2%(or 0.25%) AER interest then it is true there isn't such a requirement.Deleted User said:I think you'll find that therefore isn't a requirement to retain the account. The OP hasn't said they retain any balance in the account; therefore funding with £750 or £1k alone has zero benefit.0 -
Daliah simply asked which Flex product the OP was talking about. It was your post which said "There is no funding requirement for any of the Flex products."Deleted User said:

Same here. I've had at least two emails about it and the notification is very prominent in the app.General_Grant said:

It was first mentioned on this forum on 3 September, and I got my first emails about it on 14 September.0 -
I complained a few months ago about removal of travel insurance and was told by nationwide that the main reason was that very few people had used it over the previous year. Well b...ger me I can't think why?adindas said:Norman_Castle said:I've batted £750 between a Nationwide flex account and a Halifax current account for years to benefit from the travel insurance. How would they even know how many people used it? All they would know is how many claimed.0
