Hi, might seem like a strange one but, my wife and myself have both applied and got the Newday/Amazon credit card, just so we can get the £40 each gift card from Amazon. All good so far. I opened another current account just so I could set up direct debits just to pay off anything over the £40. Setting up mine was fine, but would it be ok to pay my wifes credit card bill on my account or would she have to use her own account. My plan was that if there was two direct debits set up on my account, I could then switch that account to get a switching bonus. Well, this is a money saving site after all

As long as its not money laundering and your not a sanctioned person then a credit card company wont care where the monies are coming from... some can be a bit of a pain setting up DDs from someone elses account but never had any bat an eyelid when making a debit card payment from my current account to the wife's CC
  • Thanks Sandtree for your reply. No definitely not money laundering. AsI said this would give me 2 direct debits on my new current account. The new account will be used for any switching offers that may arise
