I have small curved dormer window where I have always had curtains on them using Velcro.
About 7 or 8 years ago changed to UPVC
I still found that Velcro did the job. Where I bought the tape from stopped working

I bought some black and it started in place.
I have one bedroom with 2 of these and the white worked.
My lounge has 2 windows where I had new curtains fitted last Friday. This morning I find curtain one side has fallen off.
I see you can buy heavy duty velcro

Is the velcro become detached from the curtain or the window frame? I use velcro to pull the curtains to the window in a bay window to keep light out, and find that the velcro strip needs to be sewn to the curtain - the glue just won't hold. The velcro strip that is on the UPVC frame however sticks no problem at all.0

I am not using the grip and hook type..The Velcro is stuck on to the curve of the window. The curtain is then stuck to the Velcro..
They are very small as it is a dormer but curved
The Velcro attached to the curtain comes away from the frame.
So you are saying the Velcro sticks to the UPVC and it does on two window the same my bedroomThis living room went up last Friday. Three are still in place
For now I have stuck the curtain back in place
I know I am panicking I think I will order heavy duty normal and Superglue from Amazon.
Will get my daughter or SIL to help me. Not been well for 3 works and started on Beta blocker last Monday. Heart rate dropped from 1O0-140 to 50-60
Had the screening and appt with cardiologist. 11 th Jan.
I am having side effects dizzy fatigue etc so would be frightened to go on a step ladder.
Thanks for your information. I think it's the Velcro
I have only one pace today slow and slower. Thank you so much

The velcro strip that is on the UPVC frame however sticks no problem at all.I've used (hook & loop) velcro to fix some light blocking curtains over a window - Quite a heavy material, so needed a strong solution. The 25mm wide self-adhesive strip worked very well, perhaps a bit too well - It pulled the paint off the frame when I took the velco off...I'd be wary of using superglue on uPVC - Not all glues stick well to the stuff. Try some heavy duty double sided sticky tape first.

No I wouldn't use superglue.I use velchro for a blackout blind for the summer and it's round a big bay window. One end did try to peal off and I repeatedly stuck it back.Eventually I cleaned that bit of frame with white vinegar and polished off with a paper towel - then pressed it down hard and left it without any weight on it for a day. It was much better. If you do want to use something make it a smallish dab of Bostick clear on the very end bit, press to get contact between frame and velchro and allow the glue to dry. It is quick drying but I'd leave it at least half a day so you don't have to go through the process again.Securing that should keep it up and be easy to remove should you wish to.There is possiblily some fingerprint grease from installing or yourself on that end and the weight of the curtain on the end bit is an unfortunate combination. But it can be easily fixed.Good luck with the screening appointment
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Strong double sided tape would be much better than superglue.

I have ordered a roll of Velcro from Amazon and double sided tape too
I have been here for 23 years and had no problem with VelcroThe UPVC windows were ok until maybe a year ago and then the tape from local shop It looked like an old roll. I bought some black and fine. 2 windows the same in my bedroom so 4 curtains are up with Velcro. The odd time I have replacez it. The curtain is right up against so cleaning the glass can dislodge it. I really think I just need better Velcro. I put the curtain back on with the same tape and it is still in position. They are just short curtain as it's a curved dormer.
Thanks again for all your usefuladvice....

Thanks again
What has arrived today is this am is hook and loopThere is not a problem with the tape adhering to the curtainIt is that the Velcro comes off the actual window frameThe thing to understand is that the exact same window pair of Windows. I have bought velcro and it adhered ok
I basically think it is the quality of the Velcro The shop I normally would buy it from maybe 10 M to I always had a supply so if any bit became detached I simply replaced not even the full lot I simply replaced the bit. Because the window was curved so rather than have it doubled over I simply cut it
I looked at the tape when it came off along with the curtains it was not very even and while I would even out the folds it needs doing
Got now the curtain Is still in place and I won't touch it until I have more tape..
The bunch ing can wait.
I spent ages looking at Amazoz looking a lot were what I knew I didn't want a couple of the reviews said it was hook.and loop.No.whete did it say hook and loop..
I am still not able to go out and I am suffering rare side effect of a beta blocker
Thanks again Suemy bedroom stays in position.
Well maybe a see but would be detached on the edge which is understandable.
