HI all, just wanted to say thanks for all your help on this - BW Legal continued to send their threatening letters trying to encourage me to pay up to prevent legal action, it got as far as allocating our local court, then BW Legal contacted me to ask what proof I would be supplying the court as to my stepdaughter's diabetes diagnosis, so I emailed the letter we'd received from her diabetes consultant to them, and I received a letter from BW Legal today saying they were discontinuing the claim. Only taken 6 years for them to leave us alone but at least they did in the end!
Great news!  Well done for seeing it off.

    ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!

Did the BW Legal letter have the extra line, pretending that even though they discontinued they will continue to contact you to 'resolve the debt' (that is now of course, dead in the eater?).  We saw that this week from BW Legal for the first time and they need reporting to the SRA for if.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No, not on my letter - it just said ‘We enclose by way of service our client’s notice of discontinuance, a copy of which has been filed at court.
We confirm that having discontinued the legal claim, we are instructed not to pursue the debt and our file shall be closed immediately’

The letter was however printed on the front of one of their ‘how do I pay’ documents which details all the various ways you can pay your ‘fine’. But I assume they just do that as standard, and the letter clearly states they will no longer be pursing the debt

No doubt they do this just in case somebody's partner or family member sees it and pays it on their behalf. I'm sure its no accident - either way it shows how unprofessional and what a pack of desperate chancers they are!  Well done on beating these greedy pathetic sewer dwellers!
