Looks good to me.  The template defence does cover unclear signs lower down but you've covered it more, which in your case, is what your defence hangs on.

I still feel sad that people get caught like this and don't just stop on street to drop something off or pick it up!  I suspect you will use the street in future...avoid private car parks like the plague.

Thank you for all the help - I will definitely be avoiding private car parks unless a life depends on it!

Out of interest - I was thinking that it's far beyond a stage where I request an SAR ; am I correct in thinking so, or is it still worthwhile doing so? I can't seem to find the information on how to go about this..

    Never too late.

SAR guidance is in the NEWBIES thread.  Just DON'T go sending a random email to the solicitor as well (that is only when people are at LBC stage).

    Hello again,

I'm now at a point where it's been allocated to the county court, and I have received a 'trial bundle' from the claimaint.

The letter from the court states that 'by 4pm on 20th May the Defendant must file at court and serve on the Claimant copies of all the documents that the Defendant intends to rely upon at the final hearing'

I'm a little confused - do I need to send anything at this stage? I have begun working on my WS which isn't due until 10th June. It's at this point I submit my WS & exhibits (photos etc.) - is this correct?

Many thanks for any help folks

That letter from the court tells you that you must send your Witness Statement and evidence to both the Court and the Claimant by 4pm on 20th May.

Where did you get the '10th June' date from?

It is paragraph (5) on that document, and the note in italics following, that you need to follow at this time.

So just so I'm ABSOLUTELY clear - my witness statement and evidence are to be submitted by 10th June. At this stage, I can't seem to find guidance as to whether I need to submit something similar to what I have received from the claimant?

    Thank you

    No that is wrong.

Paragraph (5) is saying that you, the Defendant, must send all documents you intend to rely on - i.e. your Witness Statement and evidence - to both the court and the claimant by 4pm on 20th May - this coming Friday.

The Claimant must do likewise - which is why you have received their bundle.

Also, you must read and action the instruction in paragraph (6) at a later date. Quite why they are asking for this second submission, is a bit puzzling.

I think they are asking for exhibits in a bundle first.  Then the WS second.

Personally I'd get is about the way in one go by the first date, which is presumably what the C has done?

The most recent good example WS to adapt is the one by @wobs2k
