Not that I resent family having part of it, but it feels really unfair to prioritise relatives I haven't seen in years over friends who are my real support network.Debt free May 2016... Weeelll...Not a terribly successful month moneywise - forgot I had to pay the fitters separately so that's £300, but recovered £170 for things not needed and other work won't be done til next month as still haven't got a quote... sigh... have to chase that again tomorrow. Mortified to find I missed the paid-off CC statement - it may never have turned up - and there was a regular charge on there which caused a late fee (that bill has now been moved anyway). Groceries budget doing ok and so are most of the other budget lines.Did see a solicitor and now have a draft will here to look at and lots of things to think about for what goes in it! Pleased to find it's only £100 including any amendments and they will hold a copy for me - sounds pretty good compared to the 'package' deals. And need to dig out pension documents to clarify what happens with that.Still need to do tax return as that should get me some back in the pot...And hopefully garden plans can happen once I've got some answers on options.Debt free May 2016... That's a very good deal indeed on a will - well done for tracking that down! Even if it's being done by a paralegal it should be being checked over by a supervising partner anyway so you can have confidence that it should all be good. We store free of charge as standard, a lot of firms do, and it's far better to have it stored (there should be an electronic copy kept too) than to keep it yourself.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well, it's nearly payday and the budget isn't looking quite as bad as I thought (notes arms touch wooden deskwhile typing!). Spendy shopping tonight as haven't thought through a list for delivery and had something I needed to return - so that's now off the countertop, and has lessened the guilt at spending on ready made meals for tonight and tomorrow. In among sorting the will stuff I noticed I will need to sort out pension beneficiary decisions which means online portal torment... yawn groan moan slump head on desk... so between that and the tax return, I need some free evening time and no procrastination factors!Also starting to plan a couple of trips, yay! which means I need to think through related costs. The van will make things easier and cheaper but there will be ferries involved in the first one and I may need to book for the one nearer peak season. Plus there may be vet dental costs coming up for the cat
so I think it's going to be a case of trying to quietly keep things low cost for a bit while stuff gets on a bit more even keel. I am coming to accept that I need a longer time to pay off the CC if I don't want to give up fun stuff and get stressed in the meantime.

and it is *those* ferries, though I think heading slightly further north than your favourite stop! Hoping for one trip definitely island wards in spring, and another to the far north in the summer (and possibly the west on the summer trip, but I know I will be so torn at the idea of having to go PAST the ferry terminal instead of getting on, I have already warned people I may not manage it
)
