Good to update myself with your diary. You make a good point with the will plans. I will tackle that one for myself in 2022

Yesterday was a bad day mood wise and so also progress wise. A rubbish night's sleep, and an additional thing came up with the house which wouldn't normally throw me off but at this point I just have very little energy to throw at anything extra. Walked the dog and cheered up by the evening but not much else.Today I have slept better, eaten crunchy bacon sarnies for brunch and had a long chat with a friend. Then I listened to half a chapter of 'The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F***' on Audible and decided I have a headstart on this one - I no longer give a **** or anything else about listening to self help books by massively overprivileged Americans who think that having a slight lack of fulfilment in their late twenties and getting migraines from wedding planning constitutes a crisis that qualifies them to advise anybody on anything. Particularly not those of us who, for example, have to make decisions about actually earning a living and paying bills. So that's saved me a few hours already.Realised I am probably going to have to add to the groceries bill a little further due to the holidays - just milk and gf bread though. No other moneysaving news at this point.Debt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress

I will be sending it back tomorrow! In other news, I have been sorting through things and am finally putting up some pictures, even though the rooms aren't fully finished yet. Paid an invoice and zeroed everything but the sinking funds for December. I have made a note to do meter reads tomorrow so that will give me an idea of winter costs, and I'm planning to do them every month - currently budgeting double the previous debit but that may be a bit more than is actually needed and the money could be better used elsewhere at the moment. Returned audiobook, too.Doubt I will be able to make much of a dent in the debt next month as I need to pay a work expense and also for some work on the house, but at least things are visible and not getting any worse.Didn't get to the shops after all today but have just checked and the supermarket is open tomorrow, so not an issue. I might leave it til Sunday as I need another couple of picture frames and could pick those up in the same trip.Debt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress

Checking over new budget page...Reshuffled money out of YNAB's allocation to the credit card so that's £85 back. I am still not clear on how YNAB does this, think I must have misallocated a refund somewhere, but CBA going through it all. Still, I can't need more money to pay it off than is actually on the card, so have made them match up now.The van loan is now down to 3 figures which is a very nice feeling. The feeling of rather thinking I could have found better uses for that money and all the associated costs is not so nice but there's FA to be done about it now, so, shutting up and moving on.Not making CC payments til later in the month as I want to get quotes for work on the house first and keep cash available til then.I keep debating a fresh start in YNAB but have decided to do that to fit with the tax year, that way it should be easier to look for things for my tax return. I could also potentially swop software, but haven't taken the time to go through the alternatives and right now I don't have any headspace to spare so will probably just grudgingly pay the increased YNAB fees.
