Student Uni fees when a parent dies

A friend's spouse has passed, their child is 20 and is in the 3rd year of an undergraduate course at university. Are university fees reduced in these circumstances?

As far as I know, the fees are the fees regardless of circumstances. However it may be that the eligibility for any maintenance loans etc changes - the student would be best placed talking to the university welfare department directly.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

If your friend's spouse has died, then their child still has one parent (thank goodness). University fees aren't affected in these circumstances, but if there is financial hardship as a result of the death, the talking to the university's welfare officer (as already suggested) or the Student Union is the starting point.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

It might change the maintenance loan to them being eligible for more if  a parents income has been lost due to their death.

It won't change the amount  charged for the tuition fees.
