Good morning, doesn't seem as cold this morning.I've got a list to get through today, all little bits of things, but I'll do my best. Some of it is minor stuff I've been meaning to do for weeks, but it will get done today. We went to Dun*lm yesterday and bought a long doormat and a couple of other things then came straight home. DH was making noises about going out for an evening meal, but we didn't, I made a chicken casserole instead. When it came to it we couldn't be bothered with going out,We are living out of the freezer at the moment, and I'm going to defrost it today, and give it a tidy - I think we must have the same gremlin as TA, the one who messes the freezer up when I'm not looking. I start a freezer inventory with good intentions, then forget about it, don't know if I should keep doing it.Hope Coxy's and NRA's dads are doing ok, also DP1's granddaughter, she goes through so much but still keeps on smiling. I suppose all the medical treatment she has is normal life to her, she's known no differentNRA, I liked your advice to SuffolkSue yesterday about doing what made her happy etc, it struck a chord with me. I have been a bit low lately (family situation preying on my mind) and what you said was very helpful to me.Anyway I'll stop chuntering on, and hope everyone has as good a day as they can.Take care folks16

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for starting us off. Feels milder here too and the forecast says we will hit double figures today. That will be most welcome after the Siberian weather we have been having.
I got the freezers sorted (again!) yesterday and found room for my batch cooking but what's the betting the messer upper has been at them again overnight. I left a stray chicken breast out defrosting for my lunch today but, as yet, undecided what it will manifest into.
It's the girls first proper show today since pre-Covid. No pantos, no festivals, etc. I have so missed watching them perform. They are doing 2 performances today and I am booked for the early evening one.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones or just fed up and sad. This isn't a joyous time of year for many of us I know, for various reasons. Take care one and all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"15 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still getting light but damp underfoot, and rainy grey sky.. DH watching catchup tv, DS1 still in his pit. I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my cuppa and a brekkie bar. DS1 still in his pit, he went out last night but wasn't too late in.
Yesterday dinner was a bit of disaster, tried to do too many things at once and ended up with over cooked food. Lunch today is going to be roast pork, hopefully a better effort! I have also done some food prep for the coming work week, so feel prepared.
We are having a mare with some technology - we're trying to print out some photos for a relation too use for a family gift but our printer won't print out the pics. We shall keep trying!
Today will be a chilled day, although we're going to visit the oldies this morning, whilst joint is cooking for lunch, then easy afternoon.
Keep safe and well x

Morning everyone,
I didn’t manage to get on to post yesterday as just so busy. We collected the car for DS2 early doors. I drove our car back and DH took DS’s. He took a while as had to go via the fuel station on the way home. I went up to London to meet friends for lunch. I had a lovely roasted cod dish and had a couple of gin and tonics with the meal instead of wine. We then went to a bar for a couple of drinks and I got home around 8pm. I felt fine, not bloated and not tipsy at all. Great result all round!
Have managed to speak to DDad this morning. He sounds so good, it’s really amazing. They have plans to move him to the normal ward, either today or tomorrow. Thank you all so much for the good wishes, it means so much xx
NRA – hoping your DDad is stable and doing okay, bless him.
Dp1 – your DGD is a little star xx
Today I am off to London again to see Stepmum’s DSis, we will have brunch with my DSis. I’m hoping to put the tree up with DD when I get home, unless she does it first!
Dinner tonight will be chicken, pesto pasta – nice and easy. I have some ironing to do and of course the SCD results show 😊
Have a good day and hugs to anyone struggling x

Morning folks. No rain...yet! Yesterday was very soggy, so much so that I only went to one shop, filled up my two bags and drove straight back home. Incredibly there were some tourists walking round the standing stones which are in the middle of a very water-logged field. They look so dismal in the pouring rain.Once I was at home I unpacked the shopping, filled the blooming bird feeders, brought in wood, had breakfast and then inertia settled in. A neighbour called in for a quick chat but wouldn't come inside as both she and her dog were drenched through, well mostly the dog as she was wearing proper wet weather outer clothing which she'd have to take off. Too much faff for the brief visit, always worth it on a Sunday for gin. 😀
Izzy - I've given up having good intentions, too many feelings of failure and guilt. Instead I intend to do nothing much and so get a flush of pleasure and achievement when doing anything remotely removed from sloth. 😂
Last night I stayed up way past my usual bedtime as I watched The Equalizer film which I really enjoy. It's very violent, not my normal thing, but Denzel Washington is so good in it. Now I'm about to stir myself. I've been awake for ages, just lazing and drinking coffee in bed.I'm going to rewatch SCD, perhaps I can figure out which couple will be eliminated perhaps not as they were all so good. When the sun sets I'll light three candies on my advent crown.Scarlet - I hope that you can resolve your turmoils and get some peace.TA - what a treat tonight, I know that you'll enjoy it and feel proud. 💃🏽
My thoughts are sprinkling over all our poorlies and missing. Happy Sunday to all.14 -
Morning
Had a lovely sleep which may have been helped by the glass of Baileys I had last nightDefinitely warmer today but pretty grey and drizzly
Disaster has struck with the sausage casserole. Had some last night and it was absolutely gorgeous ...wish I could remember how much of everything I had put in...anyway I thought I'd switched it off at the socket but I should know my fingers don't always work as they should and consequently it continued to cook all night. Thought I could smell sausage casserole in my sleep but figured it was a dream. Anyway this morning its a black charcoal mess. Most disappointed about the lack of dinner now I was looking forward to that. Need to face it in a bit and see if its damaged the pot but hoping not I love my slow cooker,
In other news my knitting is coming on nicely although I seem to "lose" hours when I'm doing it and i'm not getting other stuff that needs doing in the house done so I need to ration myself.
Bits to tidy in the kitchen today and washing to get upstairs so at least I will be slowly moving my butt. Dinner tonight I think will now be a bacon and cheeseburger in the air fryer which hopefully I won't cremate.
Have a good day all13 -
Good morning
All the decorations are up🎄
Today we're going to put a curtain rail up, then I am going to move the drawers of the 3 chest of drawers I want moving to the rooms they are going to, I'll sort the contents then once they get moved I can just put the drawers in. I don't know if that makes sense but I know what I mean😜
Nothing much planned after that, looking forward to SCD tonight💃🕺
Have as good a day as you can🌻11 -
Morning all
Dull and overcast here but no rain at the moment, OH has his work clothes in the wm and they may have to go in the td. OH went to collect the shopping yesterday and it was booked for todaythats the second time I have done that, so a return journey today to pick it up !
Roast pork for dinner tonight and will do enough for tomorrow too and maybe make a casserole for during the week too.
Tummy is much better today so will try some toast after this really fancy some so thats a good sign. OH is going to take the dogs out for a long walk today and I shall get on and wrap the presents, I spoke with Nels yesterday and we decided that putting a Christmas film on while doing it was the best way so I shall do that.
DD is off with her young man for a couple of days away, they are going to Bath today for the xmas markets and then onto Winchester tomorrow, it sounds lovely and something ive always wanted to do, maybe next year.
Got the tree up yesterday evening and decorated the dresser so feeling very festive, got a few cards to write and deliver to the neighbours and a few for elderly relatives so will try and do them today.
Have good days all and take care xxx13 -
