SOLR transfer standing charge

Is this a normal thing (now) to see on your bill from the likes of BG and will it appear on following invoices?
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

A few people have reported this in the last few days as being added to their accounts with British Gas.
There is no such thing as a charge for being SoLR. The best guess from forum users at the moment is that it is actually your Gas and Electric daily standing charges for the initial period after BG were appointed your supplier. Who was your original supplier?1 -
Unless we here otherwise I would assume it is related to the way they are handling the gap between taking over the supply officially at the point when the failed supplier lost their licence and actually getting the Supplier ID updated on the central database.

Peoples Energy. So this is probably the standing charges for the meters between PE closing and BG taking over. Still waiting for a closing bill from PE so this should not be shown on there I assume.

There is never a gap between the failing supplier ceasing supply and the SoLR taking over, the way that settlement works requires it to be a seamless process. The only gap is between the SoLR taking over the supply and the central database being updated with the new supplier ID.Generally though it is just handled by the final bills from the failing supplier billing up to the date the SoLR was appointed and the first bill from the SoLR starting from that date, just not sure why BG are doing something different this time...0

BG appear to have started billing some people normally from around early October if they've been able to provide meter readings or smart meters are working. As @MWT says it seem to be the case the "SoLR Standing Charge" (or "Not Invoiced" in some cases) is the daily SC for the intervening period. Assumingly they'll bill for the kWh consumption when a Final Bill/handover read is sorted.0 -
