Care home and administrative practicalities

Hi
My mother has recently decided that she would like to stay permanently in the care home she was having respite care with (having tried to burn her house down 😁).
My brother and myself have full PoA (finance and health), and are in the process of liquidating assets etc to provide for her care.
My question really relates to some practical areas. For example what address should be given for my mother?
I really would prefer that financial documents etc do not go to the care home, but giving my address for her feels incorrect. I know there are things I can do to mitigate, for example I've turned off paper communications where I can but there are still going to be SP / Gov / HMRC communications etc.
What have people in this situation done with regard to the notification of address where your parent(s) now permanently reside within a care home?

I changed all of my father's correspondence to 'care of' my address. All medical stuff (hospital appointments etc etc) went to the Nursing Home but my guess is that that was because he was then registered with the Nursing Home GP, and NHS records got updated automatically. One letter from DWP regarding Attendance Allowance got sent to the Nursing Home. Everybody else (HMRC, pension providers banks) were happy to use my address.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

That's really helpful, thanks. Quite obvious in retrospect but it escaped me 🥺Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

Sorry, one more question. Was there much push back from the organisations to the change of address? For example did you need to provide the PoA, or was a telephone call / letter sufficient?JGB1955 said:I changed all of my father's correspondence to 'care of' my address. I don't recall there being any problem but, at the time, had been using POA for my Dad's affairs for over a year. I recall just sending a letter to HMRC telling them that his physical address was now 'XXX Nursing Home' but address for correspondence was c/o my own address.cloud_dog said:Sorry, one more question. I also set up redirection of his post with Royal Mail. It took almost a year for his house to be sold and it was 150 miles away from my home, so not easily visited, particularly during lockdown.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661 -
My father had a fair number of shares. I just changed his address to mine, online. The Registrars sent a letter to his 'old' address, informing him that they had been notified of a change, and to contact them if he hadn't authorised it. Because of the redirected mail I ended up receiving those letters, so know that they were doing their own check on the change.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661
