New Boiler Grant

Options
Hi everyone. My question is about getting help to replace a very old and often breaking down combi boiler. The house it is in is owned by me but lived in by my disabled mum aged 84. She receives attendance allowance and i receive carers allowance as her carer, but she lives alone. The house was the family home, left to me by my father who had bought it alone, as my mum didn’t want to.......
Obviously i do not charge my mother rent, she is not a tenant. But i do not live there, but am the homeowner in receipt of a qualifying benefit for boiler replacement grant.
My query is, do i apply for the grant or should the application be made through my mum? Just want to do the correct thing, so not looking to manipulate the system.....
Thanks to everybody responding.

  • First thing to do is to ask on the benefits board .
In the meantime, it may be an idea to look at sites such as eon etc to see if you qualify. If you do, you may have to wait if you have missed the deadline for this period .

    Hope this helps

    Best of luck
