Hang on, that letter says you have a CCJ.  Please re-read it, does it say that?

Oh Dear, I missed that nugget, seems like there could be a default CCJ , typical ploy by CEL, in which case its a set aside jobby, especially if the CCJ happened more than one month ago ( after more than one month , paying it doesnt get rid of it )

  • We have just remortaged our house and got a credit card out recently so doubt he has a CCJ although it could of just gone on. I'll get him to have a look at his credit file though. On the back of the letter it states - this case is not subject to high court or bailiff action. Coupon mad...yes the letter does read like he has a CCJ number but whether that's a scare tactic I don't know at this point.

If you do have a  CCJ  you need too take this very seriously, these companies ruin lives,  Read this and complain to your MP as HMG has done npthing

They said he is very close to getting a CCJ. The car we had back then was a company car and hubby thought they updated DVLA v5 with his new address when we moved in Sept 2017 turns out he should of should have done it but he did'nt didn't know unfortunately (very hard lesson learnt) So all the fine letters were going to our old address and the fine has been accumulating costs in the background.
Does the letter actually say he has had a default CCJ awarded against him or is close to getting a CCJ?  Please also note that spelling and grammar are important when dealing with legal issues.

He's just look at his credit report and was indeed slapped with a CCJ in May 2019 for this parking fine. We just got an epic mortgage deal recently which is just bizarre considering he has had a CCJ for over 2 years. Le_Kirk it does'nt say on the letter about whether he has a CCJ or not but like I said he's just found out he has one now.

Then it's already happened , so to try to remove it he will need to pay for a set aside , so ignore the advice about defending a new claim and read the set aside advice in post 2 of the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum in announcements

Also read a dozen recent set aside a CCJ threads on here over the last couple of years too

It's a default CCJ he has , due to paperwork going to an old address , so the claimant cel failed to trace him , a typical failure by them

As above, read at least ten CCJ set aside threads as they all show what he has to do.  So does the NEWBIES thread section on setting aside a CCJ.

PAYING IT DOES NOT WIPE THE CCJ.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

In which case do as advised by @Redx and @Coupon-mad and get the ball rolling on the set-aside application with the N244 form.
Is the new letter about a different parking event with different reference numbers?
