I just tried to set up a monthly direct debit of 1p with The Woodland Trust and went all the way through the process, then it failed with error message

"Payment Failure... We're sorry, there was a problem with your payment. Please try again or contact Supporter Services on 0330 333 3300."

So guess there is a higher limit.

If you want to support the Woodland Trust, then donate more than that, even join as a member from £4 a month

If not, reread the post above by cx6

Lower DD payments are history so for switch offers its better to set up a real DD .
£1 DD,s are doable via any of the GOCARDLESS  sites but  your attempting .1p ...forget it....as that costs the charities money so is very unlikely to work out.

In the past if a DD was needed I would apply for a new CC or use a current credit card.
Then set up a DD and make a small supermarket spend on it once a month.
More time consuming but then stoozing is work in progress and you dont tend to get much for doing nothing ie. not making it happen .
If you want get paid out then you have to do the work

The self service checkouts in supermarkets are ok for this small single spend or transaction, especially with any lower cost or reduced price item.
This way you actually get something for your money that you need or can use or give away  .
A tin of baked beans is  around 13p at the bucket superstores such as tesco or asda as a common example.
